The most creative restaurant I've ever made in the Sims is a pirate themed restaurant for kids, complete with the playground pirate ship, a ball pit and an arcade. I even have the hosts and servers wear pirate costumes 😁. The menu is just pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, and chicken nuggets lol. I only wish toddlers could actually join their parents at restaurants so the ball pit could actually get some use 🙁

THAT'S SO COOL! I'm gonna do that too! I never thought of making a restaurant for kids. We can also have a castle themed one, a space themed one or a nature/space themed one. Finally my kids clubs will have another hang out spot. You are a genius!

One of my first restaurant builds after I got Dine Out was a space-themed retro diner for Oasis Springs -- think that old '50s sci-fi that's so cringe it's classic. Retro Rocketship included. I've also built a high-end restaurant for celebrities in Del Sol Valley, a Japanese restaurant for Mt. Komorebi, and two seafood restaurants: a seafood and island food restaurant in Sulani, and a steak and seafood restaurant in Anchorpoint Wharf in San Sequoia. The idea behind that last one was to have a place where a family could go out for dinner together or a couple could have a dinner-and-a-movie date, combining the main theme of the pack with the fact that the rabbit hole movie theater is so close by. One of my favorite restaurant builds I ever did was a kiddies' pizza place in San Myshuno, complete with playground equipment, arcade games and Voidcritter battle stations. I used a sized-up panda lamp as the mascot and had hosts and waiters wear panda costumes. My most recent restaurant build was a small retro malt shop with a drive-in movie theater in back for Copperdale -- think "your grandparents' high school hangout is still cool" vibes. (Yeah, I have a soft spot for '50s aesthetic, how did you guess?)

My favourite restaurant in my save is also a batuu restaurant. I like that my sims have a place to unlock batuu food and drinks without having to go to the completely separate batuu universe. After seeing this video I think I will add a few spaceprints as decoration.

I find creating restaurants and letting the game run them is way more fun than running it myself. Running a restaurant is actually kinda boring--the fact that you can't be the chef, hostess or even a waiter is ridiculous and is a major missed opportunity on the part of the creators. Though I hate how buggy Dine Out is, it's actually my favorite pack. When it's working correctly (i.e. people stay seated at their table, the food actually comes in a timely manner, they eat it, etc.) it's my favorite option for a social outing for my sims. I make different restaurants to fit the theme/vibe of the outing. I've made so many different ones: a tapas restaurant that only serves bar drinks and small plates/appetizers; a wine bar that only serves wine and meat and cheese platters; a coffee shop restaurant that only serves coffee, tea and baked goods; a dessert restaurant that only serves cake, pie and a few drinks; a cafe hangout for the teens that serves bubble teas, soft drinks and little snacks...the list goes on and on. It's cool having your sim and their family/friends just hang out and talk. Also, I love adding restaurants to other activities so it's more of an outing: a bowling alley with an arcade (like a Dave & Busters/Stars & Strikes) with a family restaurant; a skating rink with a pizza restaurant; a karaoke bar with a restaurant so it's like dinner and a show... One way to give yourself more options is by adding more food. I love CC food! Somik & Serverinka, InSimnia and Brazen Lotus have some of my favorite food CC. Dine Out is such a fun and versatile pack...I really REALLY wish they'd fix and refresh it.

This comes at the perfect tine, believe it or not😂😂😂 I spent an ungodly amount of time yesterday testing "what counts as Tomaranni Cuisine". I dont think im done yet, but i did wanna build off the Fount of Tomaranni Knowledge aspiration which automatically makes Tomaranni Cuisine meals "excellent", from a storyline perspective and open a Tomarang themed resturant (ye, im well aware that managers cant partake as chefs, missed opportunity Maxis!!!, but it does make sense in my head from a storyline perspective), have my staff wear the tomarang tassle outfit too Now i just need to figure out how to make a building thats *not rubbish* (i also play minecraft so *youd think* that i wouldnt suck at building, but apparently, making buildings outta 1×1×1m^3 blocks is easier than making *real life shapes* for reasons known only to whichever deitie(s) you worship) I should also thank you, your channel may as well be called "Sims 4 Encyclopedia" with how much i use it as reference in my games😊

I’ve made a pizzeria just using home chef hustle, just use moo and set the stall behind half walls in the kitchen, that hides the stall and then sims come and my sims sell pizza sims sit down and eat, and my sims live above the restaurant

All very cool ideas -- I especially like the space-themed restaurant, that one feels particularly neat. :) My favorite custom restaurant that I've made is the Ice Cream Conery -- which, as you might imagine, sells pretty much exclusively ice cream cones. And is shaped like a giant ice cream cone (the cake kind with a flat bottom and that cup on the top). Has a little kid's play area stuffed into the stem of the cone too.

My favorite restaurant I ever made was a Japanese restaurant! It was so fun to build. I really like Dine Out, and I really, really wish they'd fix it. Knowing what I know about game design, I have a suspicion that they've worked on it, but it's a lot bigger undertaking than they expected. The Sims has this problem where it's a behemoth game that was already complicated, and then it got a million DLCs and it's about to turn 11. If they fix one part of it, that might break another part of it, and then they have to figure that out. It's not an easy undertaking, EA is not making it easier, and the majority of the fandom in rabid. Suddenly my job doesn't sound so bad.
