Glad they won the 16 million, those kids can't help that the station was negligent & their mom didn't use discretion. Google was available in 2007 for both parties & yet neither wanted to type it in, I guess. Station was warned by call-in nurses & they ignored sound educated advice. Either way it's still terribly sad that those kids have to deal with this.

I lived in Sacramento when that idiotic water competition took place. I am a retired ICU nure, but was working at the time. I called in to the radio station and warned them what they were doing was life threatening, but like other medical staff calling in, we were all ignored. Thats why they lost the lawsuit.

I take care of an elderly jewish/German man who is 85 will be 86 in March and that's all he drinks..however he does take in about 8 0unces of water per day and on average his coke intake is not nearly as high as Natasha's... He probably drinks about 16 to 24 ounces a day.

It's tragic and sad that Natasha died from (alleged) excessive Coca-Cola drinking and not so great eating habits. But anything you eat or drink in excess is not healthy for anyone. It's the consumer's responsibility to monitor his or her own intake of drinks/food, not the company's.

If customers want high level caffeine coke or coffee, they should have to buy a special one, not the regular one, with warnings that the product contains a potentially dangerous amount of caffeine. Right! Blame the technology that was so new that it required a licensed driver to monitor it 100% of the time during testing, but not the driver that wasn't doing the job of monitoring it. We shouldn't continue to develop a technology that could take world wide deaths from 1.35 MILLION per year to 100, 000 per year (while reducing travel times, congestion, and emissions) because of some growing pains in the first few years of adoption. Good call! Or, maybe not so much?

Another symptom of low potassium is the weird sensation of your heart to your left arm falling asleep. It feels like a limp waking up from falling asleep. Also, trouble with cognitive functions like speech and feeling confused. You can have a sudden cardiac arrest leading to death. Paramedics can't revive someone who has low potassium. I've experienced all of these symptoms except for cardiac arrest, but i came close. Terrifying to say the least. Mine got to 1.5. Normal is 3.5-5.5. Anything lower than 3.0 is considered life-threatening.

Death is not silly. I'd like to strenuously point out that looking at life like it's some kind of a joke devalues human life. 13:06 Most people don't have to worry about burning their throat in the same way that 'Darren' did because he probably swallowed something far too hot because of side effects related to his stroke. Darren being released from hospital most likely directly contributed to his demise. The fact that he was a stroke patient likely complicated his condition and he should have had a much more thorough evaluation at hospital, therefore, imho, the hospital had the primary liability for his death. Someone who has a stroke, aka cerebrovascular accident (CVA), especially one that prevents them from walking (as his photos show) often have difficulty with swallowing due to muscle weakness, decreased sensation and decreased swallowing reflex, leading to an increased risk of choking irrespective of its temperature; food temperature must often be regulated after a CVA and patients who've had one almost always have what's known as a 'swallow eval' (evaluation) by a speech pathologist prior to their release from the hospital, and I've never known a patient not having one following their stroke. This may have been the biggest contributor to why he swallowed something that you or I would spit out the second it burned our tongue, because we instinctively know that it's too hot TO swallow.

In China these self driving cars are dangerous and people are getting rid of them. I saw a clip where a man parked his self driving car, only to see it drive off into the traffic and caused a major pile up and this is common.. Also the electric cars in China catch fire and blow up, killing all the passengers. The fires are so intense that rescuers cannot get close enough to save anyone.

An acid can't "dissolve" another liquid acid; what school did you go to? What the phosphoric acid in Coke dissolves is the calcium in your tooth enamel, causing them to rot super fast. BTW your stomach already contains a fairly strong concentration of hydrochloric acid. People who suffer from bulimia usually lose their teeth because the constant vomiting exposes the enamel to this acid.

Babies DO have teeth; they are formed in the foetus and are there in the gums, but only emerge when ready, and they normally have enamel protection from the start. Excessive consumption of phosphoric acid as found in Coke could easily disrupt the formation of dental enamel. What a sad and disgusting story.
