@@HealthbridgeOfficialAlthough I am not a doctor I have seen another video a while back where they said that high cholesterol levels is causing dementia, also vitamin D3 deficiency and magnesium. Poor gut health as well.
@HealthbridgeOfficial
@HealthbridgeOfficial 20 күн бұрын
Those are excellent Points! Evidence does suggest that there is a relationship between High Cholesterol Levels and going on to develop Dementia. However, it's unclear if its Cholesterol alone can cause Dementia as people with high cholesterol levels often have other health conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes or obesity, which are themselves risk factors for dementia. And Nutritional Deficiencies increase your risk for Dementia as well, like Vitamin D deficiency. In a study by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people with low vitamin D levels were found to have a 54% greater chance of developing dementia compared with people whose levels were normal. And Magnesium Levels, both high and low were linked to Dementia as it may lead to impaired cellular messaging and enhanced inflammation within the brain. And yes, systemic inflammation, partly influenced by gut microbiota, could lead to as well as worsen the progression of Alzheimer’s. I wish more people were well read like you. They'd pay more attention to what they put in their bodies, about their health, doing their part to prevent as many ailments as possible. We need to eat more Unprocessed, Fresh Food even though it may be more expensive and more time-consuming to prepare. Or at least take Supplements if you're deficient. Prevention is always better than Cure. I really appreciate you sharing your Insights! Have an amazing Day! ✨

If you matched any of the signs he said, it's all over. You are screwed, no hope for you at all. Nah, not really. He mentioned so many things that it's a catch all gotcha thing. There is nobody that hasn't got some of these things. In any case, no use worrying about it. We are all getting old, and dying one day. If your over 50yo, you probably already are aware of the fact that your body can't perform like it used too, or look like it used too. Why should your brain be any different. Your kidneys probably aren't as good as they were either, or liver, or heart, or lungs. Should we panic over that. You can spend your entire life trying to ward off the inevitable decline, eat this, don't eat that, exercise like this, don't do this or that, blah, blah, blah......but we are all going to decline in every way. For those who are fortunate enough to ward off death for long enough........the reward is lingering on in a death bed in a nursing home being kept alive with all manner of drugs and treatments......shitting and pissing your nappy, dribbling, choking on your saliva, and not knowing your own name. Just enjoy your life while you have it.

You know I was thinking the same thing.... How can you tell it apart from ADHD? 🤔🤔🤔
@HealthbridgeOfficial
@HealthbridgeOfficial 18 күн бұрын
Distinguishing between dementia and ADHD can be difficult, but there's some key differences between the two that help. Dementia, usually affecting older adults (with rare exceptions), involves a gradual decline in cognitive functions such as memory, language, and judgment, often worsening over time. ADHD, typically diagnosed in childhood (with rare exceptions), is marked by stable symptoms like inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, without a progressive decline. Memory issues in dementia are severe and involve forgetting recent events (with worsening memory as you go), while in ADHD, they are linked to inattentiveness. Dementia can cause significant personality changes and mood swings, whereas ADHD involves emotional dysregulation but is generally less severe. Diagnostic tools also differ, with dementia often requiring cognitive tests and brain imaging, while ADHD is diagnosed through behavioral assessments. Accurate diagnosis and treatment require professional evaluation, as dementia has no cure but can be managed, while ADHD responds well to medication and behavioral therapy.

However, there are many treatments available to treat the condition and positively change disease progression, especially if detected early on. And there are many developments in this area of medicine that could potentially help us treat this disease much better. Your chances of better success in treatment rises exponentially, the sooner dementia is detected. That is why it's important to notice and detect this early. I only see out of one eye so i have depth perception how can dementia affect it if i already have it
@HealthbridgeOfficial
@HealthbridgeOfficial 21 күн бұрын
Glad you asked that question!. What we refer to as Depth perception, which can be affected when someone only sees out of one eye, is different from the Depth Perception and Vision Problems that are caused by Dementia, primarily because dementia causes said depth perception and vision problems by impacting cognitive processes. For instance, dementia can impair the brain's ability to process visual information, even if the eyes themselves are healthy. This means that interpreting what you see and making sense of spatial relationships can become more challenging. And, dementia can affect spatial awareness and coordination, making it harder to navigate environments, judge distances, or recognize objects and faces. This could potentially compound existing depth perception issues. Moreover, cognitive decline can reduce attention span and the ability to concentrate, which might indirectly affect how one navigates and perceives their surroundings. It’s essential to discuss these concerns with a healthcare professional who can provide a personalized assessment and guidance. If you have more specific questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask! Have a wonderful day! ✨

I have figured out that vascular dementia is the one I have to watch out for given I have Ischaemic heart disease. As for aphasia, I have problems with that for as long as I can remember or maybe that should be as long as I can't remember. I was really angry with myself the other day that I could not remember the name of Georgia O Keefe though I could remember her art, mind you eventually it came to me without having to google, but often I forget the names of artists and personalities. Who nowadays can name all three of the three tenors?

I am a bit naughty though, I was in hospital the other day for a procedure and I got fed up with being constantly asked for my date of birth so I deliberately gave the wrong century to see if anyone would pick up on it, of course they didn't.

It's understandable to be concerned about vascular dementia, especially with a history of ischemic heart disease. Memory lapses with names can be frustrating, but it might be necessary to speak to a healthcare provider about this and get a proper diagnosis. but I love your sense of humor with the hospital story. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Wishing you all the very best on all the things you do. ✨

Twin sisrer has alzheimers. We had to live different lives when she married..she never relied on herself to learn anything.i on the other hand had to,most of my life fend for myself.however desite living very different lives,i have begun to get aphasia,is this because we were born as identcal twins?
@HealthbridgeOfficial
@HealthbridgeOfficial 21 күн бұрын
Alzheimer's disease can have a genetic component. Though having a family member with the disease does not guarantee that you will get it, it does increase the probability of it. If your twin sister has Alzheimer's, you have a higher risk than the general population due to your shared genetic makeup. Identical twins share nearly all their genes. However, it is not a certainty, and many other factors play a role in the development of Alzheimer's. If the Aphasia is new, consider speaking to your Healthcare Provider and getting a diagnosis as soon as possible. I'm glad you asked that question, hope this answered it. Have an Amazing day! ✨

I think I’m at risk for dementia at age 73. Wearing a hearing aid now. Had sleep problems until last March when I finally retired-retired. Walk into a room and have to think about why I did. Still, I work out at Golds Gym 3 days a week pumping iron and some aerobic work on the stationary bike. I have an Asian and Mediterranean diet. Junk food includes a slice of pie after dinner occasionally. No cookies and chips. But I am a cigar smoker. I ride a motorcycle which keep away balance and concentration issues. But still feel like my parents, it’s going to catch up with me.

I'm sorry to hear that, but without a proper diagnosis, I do not think you should worry or let it get to you. You seem fairly active, which is Great! and the things you've mentioned are sometimes symptoms of cognitive decline due to age as well. However, if your parents were affected by this, it's better to consult a Healthcare Professional and get things clarified. Especially since the cigar smoking does increase your risks. You seem to take care of yourself quite well. I wish you good health, and an incredible Day! ✨

Seizure disorders are a major cause of dementia and a large risk factor it. People with seizure disorders are approximately 7 times more risk for dementia and/or Alzheimers. Daily excersize can help decrease the risk A LOT!!

Thing about dementia it does not harm the victim, because they don't know. Both sets of parents and grand parents passed from this wicked disease. If a person remains productive will this happen? Have not heard of any comparative studies. And smoking affects everything just as being over weight, which like 90% of Americans are.

A lot of those symptoms sound familiar and let's face it, it won't be my problem but someone else's and let's face it, it's just nature taking it's course. In many ways it seems like an easy way out because someone else will have to care for me and I'll dribble into my meals three times a day without a worry in the world. Doesn't sound too bad to be honest. Advance apologies to the person who gets to wipe my arse x

That's a very keen observation! There's certainly many indicators suggesting that, but it also could be cognitive decline consistent with age. After all PJB is 81 and a half years old. Though your point does seem more valid at times. We will know soon enough! 😬

I appreciate you sharing your perspective on this. I do not completely disagree, however this video is meant to help people recognize signs of this disease as soon as possible, to understand the steps they can do to address it best. Since Early Detection of Dementia does allow for more effective treatment. It was meant to be informative, and for people to see a familiar face, to help understand that it could happen to anyone, and that they are not alone; but I totally understand where you're coming from. We will consider this in our future videos!. Thank you so much! Have a really Nice Day! ✨

I found this video useless and annoying. Having 'senior' moments as you age is normal. No one ageing can expect to have the brain of an 18 year old. Forgetting some things does not automatically indicate dementia. Stress and depression has a strong affect on behaviour and memory also. To be honest, I wish I could forget some things that have happened in the past. Maybe I am being frivolous about a serious condition, I don't mean to. My wish is that all people suffering from dementia only forget the bad things and remember the good.
@HealthbridgeOfficial
@HealthbridgeOfficial 11 күн бұрын
That is such a sweet wish! And we're sorry if parts of this video offend you. We didn't mean to. You're right. Forgetting some things does not automatically indicate Dementia, but it is nevertheless a symptom of it. It's generally more severe than what's known as age-associated memory impairment. And mental health conditions do have an impact on memory and behavior as well, making the detection more difficult. And I wish I could tell people that detecting it early can complete cure it. Sadly, as of the moment we can only treat and manage it. But! Early detection is going to increase your chances at a better life manyfold compared to if you were not able to detect it early. Though you should not over-panic or over-think about getting one or two of these symptoms as a rare occurrence, it could be very useful to pay attention to your overall health and these potential signs. Thank you so much for sharing your perspective on this! I wish you an incredible Day! ✨
