Thank you for the new wipe videos! I can’t wait to try some. My daughter (college student) has developed a shrimp allergy! So now I need to order new dashi powder without shrimp. 🤦♀️ I will check your website for suggestions.
@JapaneseCookingChannelКүн бұрын
Oh I see. I think hondashi doesn't contain shrimp... Also, I think you can skip dashi powder, please use only soy sauce or salt instead. Even if you don't add dashi powder to the dough, it is basically delicious with okonomiyaki sauce. I checked and found that the Otafuku brand of okonomiyaki sauce does not contain shrimp ingredients. Or you can make homemade okonomiyaki sauce I introduced in the end of this video. Hope you and your family will enjoy okonomiyaki!!

@@JapaneseCookingChannelThank you so much for checking for me! I ordered from Amazon and didn’t think to check the ingredients. I will look for the brand you recommend!

Very nice as always, Sayaka! Okonomiyaki is great. In restaurants they are though often too big for me, have to share with my gf. The debate of which is best, Osaka or Hiroshima style, is sometimes heated, lol. I tried both and I must say the best was in Hiroshima. Especially with oysters also. Your variant with cheese and an egg yolk and the negiyaki both look very good. Naga-imo is super good, I make gratins with them. Never had okonomiyaki with natto! I eat natto in the morning as is mixed with an egg yolk and Japanese hot mustard on toast. The best natto I had was from people who came into town from the countryside a couple of times a week and sold from the trunk of their car, it was wrapped in big leaves, no plastic. Seafood okonomiyaki is ofc great, but with shrimps, always be careful with the cooking time so they not get chewy. Arigato!

I wanna try this so bad. I’m not sure about the eggs here in the states though
@JapaneseCookingChannelКүн бұрын
Please give them a try! About the egg, do you mean you worry about eating egg yolk? If so, please make fried egg or poached egg!
@quinnhouk5369Күн бұрын
@ yeah plus the fact that I know they leave it runny and I don’t wanna get sick from the egg cause they don’t cook it all the way

I think you should use pastry flour, cake flour, or all purpose four!

Здравствуйте. Привет из солнечного Кыргызстана 🇰🇬. Скажите пожалуйста, в первом рецепте, после капусты, что за овощ? У нас иакого нету. Это какая-то разновидность Редьки, или Дайкон , или Редис? 🙄🤔

@@KasanaVinzer don't find an easy "how to get" through google either in your region. If you have an Asian or oriental supermarket, you may have to ask.

@@KasanaVinzerahhhh. Batata is also used in Dominican cooking (Caribbean)... nice find! I can get a better flavor taste and texture profile from that! Awesome. Thank you.

I've always wanted to try okonomiyaki, but I've never had the opportunity. (Also, am I the only one who gets a little freaked out when the bonito flakes start wiggling by themselves like they're alive?) 😅
@TwilightStorm2 күн бұрын
Lol. It's probably common. They look more like they're blowing in some kind of invisible wind to me. It made me want to try to find a small package actually... If they were orange, yellow, and red they might look like a little flame... Lol... Can you dye bonito flakes?
@mikaellarsson79326 сағат бұрын
They should wiggle, both on okonomiyaki and takoyaki :-))

hi, I think you can use non smoked baccon slices to realise this recipes....
@sarahlongstaff51012 күн бұрын
I think she sad she asked the butcher. However, if you slightly freeze meat, it’s easier to slice thinly.
@kementariКүн бұрын
Thinly sliced meats are available at most Asian grocery stores. If you have none nearby, nearly-frozen meat can be mandolined or very carefully cut !
