I love a cropped (waist-length) cardigan for what it does for our visual proportions, too. I felt so frumpy all those years when really long tops and sweaters were the only style, worn over skinnies. Once I discovered the problem, that those big, long tunics, etc., made me look shapeless, blocky and my legs look stumpy, out they all went, even though they were still “the style”. I’m petite, my legs are relatively long and my hips and legs are very slim, but those big long things hid my figure completely. Now, all my sweaters are short, at least ending above the high hipbone, if not at the waist. My preferred length is just covering a normal high-rise waistband, any longer tops I fully tuck in. I make a point of always showing my waist somehow because more of my torso length is from the leg break to a high waist, not from waist to shoulder. The was the best style change I ever made, I immediately looked much more shapely and feminine, not block-like anymore. Because I’m short, “crop tops” and mini-skirts are longer on me, just the right length (I’m in my 60s, but still wear short skirts all the time). Nowadays some longer tops and sweaters are back in style, but I leave them to the taller ladies who can carry them off! Love your channel, thank you❤

Thank you so much, Kimberly! It’s so inspiring to hear how you’ve found what works best for your figure. Cropped cardigans really do wonders for creating a balanced silhouette! I love how you embrace your unique style-it’s proof that fashion is for everyone at any age! I totally agree with leaving the long sweaters to those who can pull them off, but there’s nothing wrong with rocking those mini-skirts and cropped styles well into your 60s! Your style sounds amazing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for the support ❤️❤️❤️🥰

Beautiful! In your opinion, what are the best wide leg drapey trouser brands! I need a couple more .

Good info with great examples. One piece of advice: don’t say “effortlessly” so much.

I don’t mean to be mean but I will always recognize the French girl and the copycat. Even without hearing them speak in their native language. Something is missing 😕

Thank you for your comment! I totally understand what you’re saying. I’m not French myself, but I love drawing inspiration from French style and sharing tips on how others can incorporate that effortless vibe into their own wardrobes. Everyone’s take on French fashion can be a little different, and that’s what makes it fun to explore 🥰😍❤️

There’s nothing wrong with any of us drawing inspiration from French style. I did, 40 years ago, learn a lot about French styling from two French colleagues. I still remember what they told me and have incorporated it into my own styling.🙂
