My golf pro always tells me, what I do wrong and where I have to get to. But he never gives me drills how to get there. Jonathan is a perfect example, that teaching is telling people HOW to get there. Thank you so much

This video together with your earlier video of “get in the position “, are the very best golf swing instructional videos I have seen. Very important to grasp the correct use of ground force with the left leg and the opening up of the upper body. After slowly practicing the 6 drills, added 18 - 20 yards on my irons the very first day. Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work.

Johnathan, I realize that this video is 10 months old but as I sit trapped in my home, 30 feet from my closed golf course I needed to do something to make me feel that I was moving my game forward. This one did / does it. VERY WELL DONE. I’ve done my best to bring it to my golf buddies attention and pray that I can see positive results.....some day. Thank You

Outstanding. Great exercises, but better still is your advice - when it goes wrong, don’t tear it apart looking for the why. Simply re-focus on what you know works. Like all good advice, it has many layers. More and more subtle as you peel the layers back. Thank you.

Dear Jonathan, I would like to thank you. I have been playing for over 30 years, I have managed to play to a decent 10 handicap but you have opened the doors of heaven! I have finally understood the impact. Wow! Thanks from the bottom of my heart. If you ever think of organizing a teaching trip with your students or if you try to enter the USA/ Americas market, take a look at the Moon Palace in Cancun. I can offer you free accommodation, a fantastic practice facilities, 3 golf courses and more. Food for thought.....my way of saying thanks!!!

@@JonathanTaylor63 Dear Jonathan, I hope you will take me up on the idea. My work e-mail is Jseminario@palaceresorts.com anytime! On the other hand, could you please do a video explaining the finish, i am convinced that a good finish can only be accomplished by a good swing and perhaps a drill to go from the extended follow through up to the finish position would be of great help. Thanks for taking the time to read all this...😅

Exercise #1 and the "magic move" of sitting on the bar stool move in the downswing has helped my swing tremendously. Also Exercise #2 maintaining spine angle helped eliminate my over the top problem. The focus on swinging around to the left in Exercise #5 has helped stop me square the clubface thru impact. The residual swing feelings from these exercises is what you can take to the course.

Great compilation focusing on the sensations rather than on technical information that tends to swim around in my head. I’m having a hard time rotating and especially the driver. I was coming in too steep with my driver but it also helped me understand that I need to make sure I was rotating the body and club in the first part of the swing. The trick seems to be to keep the club angle the same and the beginning. I would love to see an exercise that deals with this.

Thanks so much for sharing. The waiter position is “huge” for me as before the left arm was trying to hit spots I can’t see ( weaker arm ).... I have a slightly different drill for rotation I just started but it’s virtually the same as you describe. I was a 3 handicap 25 years ago and was so lost. I am hitting the center of the face virtually every time with these exercises. I like as well how you describe the through swing. I hope to shake your hand some day. Thank you !

So Crazy. Ive been playing for a year. scrambling to a low 90s and broke 90 twice. Taking lessons with golf tech. Seen a few of your vides a week ago and started these drills. last month I was having a hard time getting my pitching wedge past a 100 consistently. 7 iron on a good day would be close to 150. The other day I started smashing my 8 iron to 150 at the range. Today 2 days later I was carrying them to an easy 155 with range balls so I pulled out the 9. Now this club is starting to carry 150. Just picked up a 52 D wedge because my easy pitching wedge is in the 120 zone. Drill every night.

Hi Jonathon I really like the drills especially the waiter Drill one question shouldn't your shoulders be square to the ball at impact but your hips open 45 degrees just making sure many thanks
@JonathanTaylor634 жыл бұрын
If possible you want your hips rotated more than 45° at impact and your shoulders/chest open to the target. Remember that your arms are being pulled around behind your shoulders(hopefully), if your shoulders were square you couldn't get your hands in front of the ball (lean).

Jonathan - exercise 5 - why is it important to feel the "whole club" hit the ball - as opposed to just the clubhead?

Its more of a visualization and stops you flicking at the ball with the club head.

Been doing these drills for a while now, and they're great. In my swing, the biggest fault is swaying. I spent alot of time working on the barstool etc, but i realized it doesn't matter because the root cause is sway. after identifying that and truly "resisting", in the backswing, i can start working on the other stuff. and this is the great thing about your drills, they explain the sequence! a youtube great :)

thanks Jon - great exercises! in exercises 3 and 6 is the ' sit on barstool ' part just something you pass through or should there be a pause on the barstool? I'm finding that if I use the shear forces in the legs as you describe in other lessons it become a 2 part move rather than 3, so less to think about...
