I would only suggest outsourcing when you can’t handle the workload of shooting and editing. It’s also good to learn to edit in the beginning. You may have to do some yourself anyway.

Boom. This video's going to have longevity. Well done! One thing I'd like to add is the importance of being personable to the sellers/homeowners. As a solid, pleasant representative of your client, that goes a long way in not only retaining those agents but having them refer you to others. I never miss the opportunity to speak well of the agent to their clients...that kind of stuff has a way of getting back to them.

This is gold as far as pointers go. Talking up your agents to the homeowners will always score you some good points with your clients, but honestly it's rare I encounter homeowners anymore. Earlier this year I made it a policy that all properties must be showing ready with all people pets and vehicles vacated from the property 10mins prior to shoot time because of the amount of issues we were having with people moving things around during shoots. I expected to get some flack by my clients but really it just helped reduce my shoot time on site by 1/3 because I just show up and get straight to work. Granted there are still special case scenarios and I encounter homeowners and puppers on their way out all the time, so I do still get to interact with them and sing the praises of the agent I'm shooting for currently. I even make sure to double check the calendar invite to make sure I know which agent I'm currently shooting for and don't mix it up 🤣

@@jeremydeihl I’d love to implement a policy like that. During covid I got spoiled to every property being vacant while I was there, and yeah, it does save a pile of time. Did you have any pushback on that?
@jeremydeihl

@@loudandclearmedia surprisingly, I have not had a single agent say anything negative about it. Most of them seem to prefer it because it causes their homeowners to be more proactive in getting stuff done. Knowing they can't wait to the last minute. I still obviously allow agents to be there while I am shooting. So if they are a few little things to move, it's no big deal. I was really just trying to save that initial 5 to 15 minutes of walking around talking about of home and figuring out where to put the pets while I shoot haha. I say if your debating on doing it, go ahead and do it. Just like you, I got super spoiled during covet and waited all this time to re-implement that procedure. I should have done this last year and save myself a lot of headache

A classic. If this photography gig doesn't work out for you you might want to call the local repertory company😊. Really useful content as always, thanks you.

Hahaha thanks man! I have been debating in adding more skits and the such on my channel but never really wanted to go for it, but it seems to be going over well so there might be some shenanigans in the future 🤣

Thought this was another get rich video but surprised how true this is. Marketing is so important and my weak point right now when it comes to this. I dont even wanna make 6 figures i just wanna make a comfortable living off of doing what i love. I just wanna shoot amazing photos of future homes and make money doing it is just a bonus. I have went to all my local low budget real estate companies here in my small town and no-one wants to hire so ima try again. The only portfolio i have is of architecture photography which is slightly related.

@jeremydeihl

That's a tough one. I would advise shooting your own property until you are proficient and can create great images there. Then ask your friends to shoot their place. Your portfolio does not need to be huge to start, just 2-3 houses to show you know what you're doing 😁

Hey Jeremy, it's such a shame I didn't know any of these tips ( as a matter of fact I was lopsided on them all ).. Point 2 is the most crucial of all in which I was doin the opposite of ( guess some conflictin info from some other youtubers formed my biases ) but learned realtors don't care much about that what matters to them in terms of image is the composition ( getting the right angles ).. and point 1 is another salient one.. Thanks for sharing..

Glad you found it helpful! I know most people don't even want to think about going after those lower tiered properties but my team shoots between 10-30 of them a week right now. It's a great way to keep steady money coming in. Granted we will not be posting those photos up anywhere for advertising, but the money is definitely worth while :)

On point 2 you need to find what works in your particular area. I guess if the clownish HDR is the style in your area and what a majority of realtors like then go for it. I think consistency is the key with your quality level. I would be careful with this depending on what you have already built and the area you are in and the clients you already have.

A poker buddy is a high earning realtor. He pays $125 on average for interiors on a million dollar property. Myrtle Beach is saturated with talented photographers. I can make similar in four hours of Rideshare. Sadly, that is my my litmus test.

That's insane because I charge $50 more than that for a $2,000 sq ft house with a $250,000 list price, and shoot about 10 a day for my company even right now is a super slow market. A million dollars listing in Raleigh, NC will spend roughly $800 for their listing with my company between photos/video/drone and again that is just the basics. Either your friend is pulling your leg trying to get you to shoot it for less, is putting bad imagery on the MLS and does not care because they are under the opinion that photos don't matter. Either way they are not a client I would try and persuade to work with me. If they don't see your value monetarily, they never will no matter how much you try and convince them. Move onto someone who does see the value in what you provide, but just so you know $125 is lower than I have ever charged for my services, even 12 years ago when I was taking my very first real estate photo my prices were more than $125 for a property 2,500 sq ft and below. Granted I am in a different area and I don't know what the general cost of real estate imagery is in your area, but I know what myrtle beach houses sell for and that sounds unreasonably low to me personally.

@@jeremydeihl Thank you for the detailed reply. The $125 might have been for the 2500 square foot type house, but I doubt it. Thank you again! Gives me something to work with as I do my DD.
