Push is my go to! One quick tip: instead of copying, clicking the other clip to highlight it green, and then pasting--you can instead just hold 'alt' and drag the transition to the clip you want, and it will duplicate it. It's super fast. You can also use that method to duplicate most anything on the timeline, and if you want to just select one thing in a linked clip (like just the audio or video) without unlinking them, 'alt' and clicking on what you want will allow you to select just that one clip without anything else associated with it. Edit: I learned another quick way to add to multiple: if you select all of the clips you want to apply the transition to, and then click on the edge as if you were going to change the length of all clips, it will highlight ALL of them green along the edge, and then when you paste, it will apply to all of them. This is actually incredibly helpful for me! The green highlight thing to allow paste is new to me though, and will definitely come in handy when I am adding to a bunch of tracks. Thank you!

Brother, that adjustment clip is an absolute game changer. I have commentary and react videos I do pretty often and have to manually enter the zoom, x and y coordinates on clips to give myself a full frame of my face cam. I've had videos where I've manually entered coordinates over 100 times to get a zoom on on my face. The fact I could just copy and paste an adjustment clip over the top of them makes me partly furious because I've wasted so much time, but mostly elated that I now have a solution to dramatically increase my workflow. I wish I could give you a hug(but I'm sure you'll settle for a Subscribe).

Excellent video and demonstration of how you use it! I'm new to Davinci Resolve from PP and am just scratching the surface of its power. The one thing Adobe PP did better so far though is text based editing, it's far superior to DR studio's version and I've already submitted bugs to the engineer team who have confirmed there are issues and it wasn't behaving properly. So hopefully they can catch up to PP's text based editing and it'll be pretty darn perfect. The text box wrapping is also a thing missing in DR but meh, I'll work with the workarounds. I do wish DR would allow users to save the default for all the settings though so workflow could be even faster! Things like blank fill and dynamic zoom for example.

Hi Dunna, I was wondering, the title cards shown at 1:11 (Push) for example, do you hand-edit the text for every of these cards or is it one master sequence that you use instances of and enter the text via a separate text field?
@dunnadidit7 ай бұрын
This specific video is a bit different because I was trying to be cheeky by showing the effect I was going to talk about with each title card. But the push title card is the closest to what I typically use in my videos. All that is is the background on one layer and then a text+ on a layer above. When I need to create more, I just highlight those two clips (background and text) and either copy and paste or opt(alt) drag to copy them to the new location, change the text in the text+ clip and I’m done. Hope that answers your question.

While I’ve used the Adjustment Clips in a similar way, I do feel like there should be a disclaimer in that section about them. I would, first of all, recommend not using adjustment clips to Zoom. I don’t know the best technical way to phrase this? Adjustment clips will zoom in on the clip at the resolution it is at on the timeline. So, if you have 8K footage and the timeline is at 4K resolution, the zoom from the Adjustment Clip will zoom on the clip as it is on the timeline, at 4K. This means any zooming in that you do with an adjustment clip is going to start to pixelate immediately. Adjustment clips are nice if the timeline res is the max resolution you’re going to get from that media anyway, or if you wanted to apply an effect to the whole screen. But if you use Adjustment Clips to zoom in, the media will pixelate (I think even if you’re zooming in on a Fusion effect, which is technically a vector, you still get pixelation).

I wish DaVinci Resolve had all the qol features that my previous video editing app had. That being said, I don't regret switching because that one was draining my bank and I rarely used it. If anybody was wondering, the feature I was thinking of is where objects, specifically the main video source, can snap to the edges of the scene, so I don't have to fight with the position manually. If anybody knows a way to do that, please lmk.
