Only been to Japan once 30 years ago, was only there two nights in Tokyo and we didn't try any local cuisine. Now going back on a ski trip for 8 nights, I still have no idea about Japanese food, hopefully I can navigate myself around and be able to give something a try this time.

I usually assume ramen broth is pork based unless it specifically says something else. When traveling with Muslims you have to be careful that just because the ramen doesn't have pork meat in it, it doesn't mean it's not pork based.

I didn’t visit the art aquarium (maybe next time) but I did get coffee at a few of the showa style / kissaten coffee places that are still popular in Ginza. They’re quite cute.

Yup, we have Uniqlo in the US too, but the one in Ginza is the flagship store so it's the most unique one😀

In the US, currently, there are Uniqlo stores in the northeast, west coast and Hawaii. Nothing in the huge middle. We can order online. Yes it’s mass market, but the quality is so good, especially for the price. I’m a fan, as you can tell.
