Hey Harblife. Love the channel. Only request I have is for you to talk like you normally do to your friends and Matilda. The affect you have on your channel in your voice makes it sound fake-not a turn off but it would be better to just talk without the “announcer” affect.

Hey Ian thanks for the feedback. I have been waiting to experiment with the regular voice after I release my Q&A video which will FOR SURE be released by the end of next week. Was waiting on the timing for that video but it's been super delayed due to real life reasons. Don't worry, I will try it out in the near future! Constructive feedback like this is always appreciated so thank you!

I must disagree. I actually like Harblife's style of delivery. I find it very professional and very easy to understand. His delivery is clear and quite fun to listen to when he throws in some jokes. His style of delivery is what draws me to his videos (plus the professional editing, images and subtitles of the name of places). Really well done.

I never leave comments on KZbin but I have to say, don't change anything! I've been trying to watch lots of Japan videos for our upcoming trip and prefer yours because the way you talk isn't boring like a lot of others monotone videos. The way you talk keeps your videos upbeat and engaging. Thanks for all the great info

On your recommendation,I tried Hashigo Honten and Tir Na Nog last night and I was greatly impressed. Thank you so much for this information, keep up the good work!

Oh hey Chris, I have a quick question about Hashigo Honten's 'Chinese style' ramen. Would you say their signature ramen is spicy by Western/Chinese standards or is it more toned down for the Japanese market's idea of 'spicy and hot'? I'd love to try it if you reckon it's more of a mild kick rather than an acidic dissolving of lips and tongue. What's YOUR verdict?

Woah. That grand finale! 🏆This tip for a new cafe/bar to check out has made my entire week. I keep thinking I've been to all the 'hipster' hidden cafes and bars in Tokyo and felt a bit glum about it...and then I watched this video and felt energised anew. I sincerely hope I stumble upon more 'hidden kissatens' and cafes in Tokyo, I love 'em! Hard to find, challenging even to research but when I find one, I cannot tell you how happy it makes me. Thanks so much!!

@@harblife Me too! I'd love to know in advance whether it's genuinely spicy the way we consider 'hot' to be in the West/other parts of Asia or more of a moderate heat suitable for the Japanese folks looking for some chilli spice. What's your take on spice/heat level?

Been in Tokyo for a few days now. In the spirit fancy, I recommend the gardens at Hotel Chinzanso. Specifically at night. If you are a guest, or dine at the restaurant you can visit the garden for free. It's small, but it's incredible to walk through.

The aquarium also seems to have various bad reviews mentioning that the fish are kept quite badly. No enrichment, vertical tanks, etc. It looks SO pretty and I would love to go there to appreciate the beauty, but this unfortunately also seems to be a place not to support :( I wish they used fake fish or something.

I'm planning a trip to Tokyo and immediately got excited about the owl cafe (I *love* cat cafes, but owls are so uniquely special!). Unfortunately, I did a quick google search and it looks like owl cafes might be a bit problematic, since they're nocturnal and many of these places chain them to branches on short leashes so they can't avoid being touched. Really sad because it would have been incredible to have a guilt free. Changing their hours to evening only would be a really good step in the right direction for these businesses.

Besides that, owls aren't pets. They are birds who need a lot of space to fly.

Glad you wrote this. The volume of people on social media advertising these live animal-themed cafes indiscriminately deeply concern me. One girl rode an overworked little donkey up a flight of 300 steps at a tourist trap in Petra because it was quote, "too hot to walk up there". She smiled and gurned like a morally bankrupt, spoilt imbecile and I had to switch the video off as I felt so sickened I feared I may begin weeping from the suppressed rage and despair.

I came here looking for the same comment, promoting animal cafes is really sad. They should be out there in the wild and living their lives at night. Not being in a small cafe with light all day long for people to watch them. Please, next time focus on the good of the country and if you want to see animals you can always get in touch with an animal sanctuary
@Majootje
@Majootje 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for this, i also just posted the same. Just hope that people read this. All animal cafes in japan are straight up animal abuse. Exception might be the cat cafes. But all others... i wish japan would treat animals different soon.. also the zoos are terrible.. by accident we were detoured in Himeiji trough the zoo as there was a marathon , and it was so terible how the animal enclosures were.. i could not stop thinking about this. A Google search confirmed the terrible way the animals are treated there, for example how their elephant was alone in a small cage, no enrichment whatsoever for years and years on end... it was a shell of itself. 😢

I went to Art Aquarium in March (because of an earlier video of you), and indeed it is quite beautiful. However, I left quite disgusted (and my friend had the same feeling), and I would not go back and not recommend it to friends. The aquariums are very small and everything within the bassins is plastic. There are way to many fishes in the larger aquariums, and way too little space in the smaller aquariums. Fishes are leaving beeings, and not art exhibits, and I dont like it at all, how they are treated there. I also absolutely dont like animal cafes. Because I love animals. Especially owl cafes are very questionable to me. Owls are nocturnal, and not pets. I normally like your channel, but here I would really like to give you many minus points.
