I'm with Zee on Prehistories (he made a nice review about it a year ago) ; it's actually a pretty good family game: easy to teach, perfectly weighted to be fun for adults & kids, a beautiful production at a small price. As for the gameplay, I found it very compelling. There are two parts to the game: on the main board, you are trying to outwit your adversaries and find the right timing (when to be "quick"? when to be "strong"? when to risk an "injury" with your hunters?) in order to get the tiles that you need ; on your individual board, you have a nice little puzzle where you try to organize your tiles best ("paint your fresco" ;) ) to be the first to fulfill objectives (given by your tribe's elders of course :D). I recommend this game as a light family/gateway game, a pretty good choice when you have a limited amount of time, or when you want to play a breezy but clever game with your kids (from 6). (PS: there is also a nice expansion for the game, with a little "story" bringing progressively new stuff to it (new variations on the gameplay, new characters, new tiles...))

I really enjoy prehistories. Fun card play combined with polyomino tile placing. It’s quick and fun as a gateway or family game

I once played a quick card game (Lunch Money, I think) . The turn order was reversed on me over and over again with a bunch of lose a turn cards thrown in. The game lasted one and a half hours. I played one turn in all that time.

Love the use of the Magnificent 7 theme combined with the DT music. Too bad you didn't have 7 games to talk about, then you could have had "The not Magnificent 7".

I love that you say this about a Richard Garfield game; if you roll well, you win. How is that not what you do in King Of Tokyo? If you roll well, you win. Don’t think Tom likes dice (and therefore luck) that much.

Honestly Prehistories doesn’t belong on this negative of a video imo but hey your video. I think the game is much better than you gave it credit for in that short paragraph and I actually tend to be pretty hard on games when I review them. I think it’s a decent family game.

Great new series! A cool thing, you might regret starting (like the component drop), is having a box cover set up at the end. You say “I’m Tom, you’ve been watching the dice tower.” Then you pull out a nerf gun draw like Clint Eastwood shooting the box off the table. Blow the tip of the gun casually and say “thanks for watching.”

When you start with prehistories I got confused and thought Tom had finally played pre history from A games. A much better game.

Really hoping to get your short opinion on Yosemite that Chris and Mike did a full review for. Just because you had high opinion on Bumuntu and your thoughts with a slight comparison to Bumuntu would've helped anchor, perhaps, if it's indeed not good and why it failed compared to its good predecessor.

lol that title. As far as Richard Garfield, he has to be the most overrated designer in the industry. I see his name stamped on stuff more often than I see the Marvel License being handed out. I swear he just charges people to put his name on boxes. Most of the non-magic stuff he releases (he does lots of video games too) sucks.

@@Xammblu_Games King of tokyo is fine. Roguebook was decent. Most of his games generate tons of sales based on his name but are nothing to write home about including the 2 you mentioned. is he awful at making games? no. But I dont get how people still see his name and expect something great. He makes ok games.

@@Xammblu_Games I am not a fan of King of Tokyo. It is overrated. You it has some strategy - and it isn't the worst game, but it's not my favorite, either.
