Really quitting social media was the best thing I did in probably my life. Now I read e-books, paint and meditate instead of scrolling for hours at a time. Constantly being reminded of what you don't have and that you are not good enough for anything will make anyone depressed and it's just natural. Filling your head with problems that you haven't encountered and probably never will doesn't make sense, does it? Only misery is contagious not happiness. Focusing on real-world problems that appear in your life will improve it a million-fold I know cuz it happened to me. Use the internet as a learning tool don't let it use you.

For the second habit: I'm not an expert, but I suspect it would also be healthy not to view them as failures, but rather learning curves. If you can identify something you could have done better, you have learned something you didn't know before. That alone has made you more competent. It assures the person that there is a brighter future, while reassuring them that what happened was not necessarily in vein, but only part of the course. All Humans make mistakes. All Humans.

When I had social media, I remember not being satisfied with anything. I was in a negative mood and social media would raise my anxiety because of a lot of the things posted. I started to post less on social media and would only check certain things but then I decided it's best to delete it altogether. I deleted my accounts last year and I have no regrets. I'm in a better mood, I wake up with more energy and I'm more focused. I use my time more wisely and I have less stress and less anxiety. Life is better without social media. The only time I would ever get back on it is if I had my own business. That is the only exception.
@LakituKoopa3 жыл бұрын
yeah, I might do the same soon. I only have KZbin but that is more than enough. In the past social media was so much fun, people were nice and actually good things happened. Now those days it is all about politics, several social media platforms have become greedy with monetarization, censorship, toxic people, lunatics, idiots, assholes and dangeours people sharing dangerous ideas or trying to "improve" society by solving problems that are not really problems and ruining it at the same time for everyone. I think it is time to leave the sinking ship.

The only habit I have or have had, is the fights with my siblings. Im always violating her personal domains, and theres always injustice to my favour, since I always have the bigger slice (if you compare our lives it always has been like that, and much more nowadays), so thats why we have this special relationship. Of course, sadly, she got all the psychological problems, and stuff. But Im always doing my best, especially in the last 10 years, to change this. And there have been lot of achievements!

I imagine people that don't exist for weeks. I know they aren't there, yet I'll still talk to them. An example is I'll imagine having a good friend in my life, one that I grow fond of and I imagine scenarios with them where we may be doing things together. It's like I create a whole backstory for them and be happy being their friend. And sometimes I imagine that I'm basically a whole different person with them. I become sad and disappointed when I realize they aren't real and I'll never meet them. I'll also act like I'm talking to people that aren't there, such as walking in circles in my room like I'm talking to someone or just staring at a wall and pretending there is someone or many people watching me and listening for 30 minutes. I don't know if there is a condition related to this but I would love to find out!

Guilty of 1-4 & 6. Reality though is- 1. Limiting social media changed nothing. 2. Positive thinking made feel worse. 3. Therapy and other interventions = change for the worse. 4. Exercise made me feel angrier, more hostile to others. 6. More sleep made me more depressed. All of which further convinces me of what some of my therapists have argued over the years, that perhaps chemically/biologically I'm wired different, which only further disconnects me on being human.

Doing lazy uncontrolled things in the morning (unless you wake up early and have a set schedule that YOU KNOW WILL FOLLOW) is at risk of making you waste your day, for lack of motivation for work, and at the end of the day make you feel awfully unfulfilled. (that's messing up your dopamine reward system, with a lack of hard work earned satisfaction, and accomplishment serotonin)

you’re not narcissistic at all. sometimes, when self-love is hard, it’s worth enough to just be content with ourselves, our surroundings and our life ❤ keep going, you’re doing well !!

Number 2 taught me number 3. I continually tried to do better, telling myself I could improve. Didn't happen. Taught me I can't change many things about me. Otherwise, don't know what positive things to say. I'll think about it, but nothing comes to mind. Ultimately, these teo points don't help me.

"over-critical and negative thinking" Theres a slight problem here... I don't know how to stop it and i wish i could, but i guess that's just how my brain works.

I think the first point (social media) depends on what you use it to and for how long. Ofc it's never healthy to be ALWAYS on social media, but I think I'm good on that aspect because even though I have Facebook and Instagram downloaded, I basically only use the first one to see what my yoga instructor posts in the group page (before that, I mainly used it to look at memes, lol); and I use IG to post my pics and videos, not much for watching other people's stories or posts. So if you're a person like me who doesn't depend on social media because you rarely use it, I'd say it's okay to keep those apps then. Or if you have work-related stuff there like managing your business's IG/Facebook page or something (but even then try to not spend too much time on it).

@Phoenix 𝙾𝚙𝚎𝚗 𝙼𝚢 PROFILE To feel better reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety. For a better life sit on a chair, back straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. Slowly the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Day or night, when taking a walk, when reading, on the phone, before sleep etc sit or lie down and observe your breath. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

Regarding the last habit, what if you have no choice but to stay up all night? I’m a medical student (on my 4th yr) and I have no choice but to study everyday. I always sleep 4 am and wake up before 7 to have daily endorsements with our consultants (these are doctors that are seniors and our professors as well) we have to do this every day, everyweek. I don’t want to make any excuses but it really is draining me out as well as my classmates. It’s so ironic that we study for other people’s health but we ourselves are not living a healthy lifestyle.😔 I haven’t talked to any experts on the field of psychology and mental health but I feel like I have depression😞😞😞

Never used facebook or twitter or any of those sites ever, just youtube. Negative thinking yes, never exercise, I have bad untreated arthritis so just getting out of bed and walking to the bathroom can be tough, arguing, nope, I avoid everyone and never talk, and I don't sleep or sleep way too much, lots of drinking, lots of debt, no job, but just another day, you get used to it, be well-ish everyone!

I try to sleep enough, even knowing the people who should help wouldn't believe anyway. But still... No matter how much i sleep, i'll always wake up feeling bad if i got to sleep feeling like this. Sometimes i think sleeping is not worthy it because of that, but my body just shuts down at some point. So... Whatever. Sleep won't gonna help you to deal with the problem, but will help you to get force to endure then, plus you can avoid then for a while by sleeping! You can't fight yourself when you're not awake, can you? So abuse sleep the best you can, gather energy from it and keep yourself determinated.
