Fitting into the norms of society is the most challenging aspect of this divine trait, which to me goes beyond man's understanding and deep into the meaning of our universe. Imagine a society of solely HSPs, how beautiful would that would be? Were everybody is accepted and embraced, and admired for who they are.

The term HSP came to me about 3 days ago via TEDx talks, and it's rocked and stabilized my whole existence ever since. I'm so overwhelmed right now about what seems like a saving revelation. Thank you for the podcasts. They're so informative as well as empowering and soothing. Thank you especially for this post. I can relate to all of them - and I understand the Clumsy Ninja at a fundamental level. Traits that make me love life and living more but make people around me uncomfortable even irritated and angry. I wondered my whole life if I was subconsciously refusing to grow up and leave the wonder of exploration, making friends, and being open into what I figured was maturity. Anyway, thankfully, at least for now, I put a hold on the euthanizing of my creativity - a self sacrifice I figured was necessary to finally become an adult - I'm 37. It's been painful. But now I feel more confident about the pros of being hopeful. Thank you. - Sunny P.S. I found your channel trying to calm myself from last night's election results. Your posts have been so helpful.

Hi Lady, I'm sorry he reacts that way. I comment on the sky, or flowers, or just the beauty of any random thing all the time. I think my spouse also found it weird at first. Others just don't see things they way we see them. It's great if we can both come to an understanding about how the other person is different. I wish you luck :)

It's like u just described me to the fullest. I'm just now learning that I am an HSP and I use to think every one else around me was nuts because they didn't feel or see what I did but now I know that this gift is special and I now embrace it. Especially the overly excited feelings about even the small stuff and I could never understand why another person couldn't see the beauty in something. Well anyways loved the podcast. Thanks.

I'm like a hundred years late commenting on this video 😅 but you have no idea how much validation I just got from this list. When other people have made me feel like I was the problem, I see that no, I'm just an HSP and that is kind of a superpower!!!
@rogerfrenchphotography
@rogerfrenchphotography Жыл бұрын
This is so crazy how well it all resonates. Even the tiny details. I literally say that one of my odd superpowers is catching things that I drop or knock over. It is like I see the path and the things it is going to bounce off of and just put my hand there and wait. I even have time for a "look away" to make eye contact with someone in the room while the object falls into my hand, sometimes. It actually does feel like the visualization of the Robert Downey Jr. version of Sherlock Holmes. I am also realizing that, as a photographer, that is why my ability to stalk and catch "the moment" is so repeatable - and truly where my salability lies. The difficulty is that a lot of these superpowers also astonish me. I don't even understand how I do some of these things. But to try to share my astonishment with others can easily sound like bragging - which seems to be another lifelong HSP battle. And why it can take so long to truly step into our skills without shame. I am curious why you stopped making content?

Wow....wow! I really was waiting for the second part of 'benefits of being a Highly Sesitive Person'. Well,it was all worth the wait. I still can't believe that being an HSP is being yourself and there is so many people like us in the world. I don't remember if you have mentioned this before, but music also deeply affects our emotions. We really appreciate some songs and we keep listening to them over and over again but that feeling never fades. So I have a humble request, can you make an episode on music? I really enjoyed your episode and look forward to the next part eagerly, but patiently. Thank you! :-)

I know this was posted a few years ago, but I'm new to your channel and being a HSP. I just recently discovered I'm a HSP after 25 years of thinking I had anxiety. I've listen to a lot of your podcast and everything makes so much sense. Anyway, I can relate in so many ways. I also wasn't thought of as an athlete, very quiet and shy. Sports came very easy to me and I also played Varsity softball and Field Hockey as a Freshman. A starting player at both sports, batting 3rd and a forward at Field Hockey. Love that I found this channel and your podcast. 🤗

Hey Thanks I found that you're Highly sensitive person, same here I feel life too intensely...frankly speaking I am looking out for sensitive people on this earth or my tribe but no one is really Genuine, honest, straightforward like me... Pure hearted, soft hearted at times.. But frankly speaking no friends in life yet, no normal or close friends I have got yet in my life ...i just feel more LONLY and separated from this 🌐.... No connection or bonding yet with family... As no one is like me yet who 😍 to be Direct / deep talks and meaningful conversation... I just hate small talks and being Fashionable because I am INSIDE person who speaks from heart and does everything from Rich Inner world, not being outside or living a superficial life, in the sense I hate people who are Funny or cracking jokes... As what I feel inside is Laughing has some limitations.. People laugh on everything nowadays which is why I don't build relationships with people...... Abhishek Mangaraj

Oh, yes. I was and still am told by many that I'm so serious, think a lot. Also my fun, relaxation, rejuvenation options mostly differed from many. I still do take pleasure in small things- flowers, bees, birds, sounds, music, shifting arrangements in room, wearing odd colour combinations of clothes and people saying it suits me. I love breaking unsaid norms too.

OMG, YOU DESCRIBED MY LIFE LOL. When i was younger i remember getting so excited for things like- for example. A song that i really liked and usually sang with my sister came on the radio, but i hadn't heard it in a while so i jumped up because i was really psyched. Then i ran into the kitchen to tell my sister (who was talking at the kitchen table with her friend) that the song came on and i grabbed her shoulders and i was jumping, so it was pretty disappointing when she kind of pushed me off of her and told me to calm down. She kind of blew me off and I think i annoyed her with my excitement so i just went into the living room and reflected. That was probably when i realized how embarrassing it is to get so worked up about things and started to work hard to change that about myself and suppress my excitement. I also am tuned into my intuition. Whenever im sitting and i get a REALLY good feeling i should take a shower, i just go do it. I usually regret not listening because then guests will come over our house or my mom might ask me to go somewhere with her on short notice. I also think very carefully about every decision i make and i need to carefully exhaust every option before i decide on one. Idk if im indecisive but thinking that way REALLY doesnt do me any justice when it comes to time because im pretty terrible with deadlines. I also have fast reflexes and was put into a "bounce-house" like obstacle course when i was in the 6th grade and when the teacher said "go" i remember tearing through that house to fast i couldnt tell you what the inside looked like. I think it was yellow. I remember everyone being like "What was that??" and "What just happened??!" I beat everyone that wanted to go against me until i started getting tired lol. I also loved softball. I tried out for the team but didnt make it- as i was pretty good at hitting the ball with the bat, i guess i didnt make it because i wasnt up to par with throwing or something. I also like to think of the comfort of others and am an artist. I havnt drawn in a while because my mom took my art supplies away from me when i wasnt focusing enough on my school work- ive just been having trouble finding my passion ever since but.. i believe ill find it again one day. I need it, it makes me happy and its what i plan on doing in the future. Ive just been pretty emotionless and having such issues with being a HSP lately (i just found out what an HSP was today) Im having problems making connections because i keep projecting odd emotions and i feel like my spirit my hates me because its working against my interests. I want to be comfortable and i want the people around me to be comfortable but thats never the case. Ive just found this condition that applies to me and i would like to talk with someone about it but i cant talk with anyone i know irl, explaining my experiences will be difficult.. :(

I hope you enjoy your earrings! I got excited when a neighbor had taken the snow off of my car; I was so grateful too! I love children because they get happy over a balloon or gum drop. I once went on an interview for a nanny job and the little girl ju ped up on my lap and said mommy, I love her. The mother said, how do you know you love her? The little girl said, I do t know mommy I just do! I got the job. This little girl was very bright and sensitive and she could sense I was a good person and I love taking care of her and her brother. I can bet she's highly sensitive. Children are spiritually sensitive and notice things adults block out. Her little brother got excited every day when he would ask me to lift up a rock in their back yard because he just wanted to know if the worm was home. Once he saw the worm was home, he was fine. How sweet. I just wish children would get outside mor and explore the outdoors and not always play video games inside.

Thank you I will keep looking for more podcasts like this, I am appreciated by some when I tune into dancing and music, I can change a whole room into a fun experience, and my gift is getting other people up.... to move to the music too and inspire the band, of course one has to ignore male ego's that are out for one thing and misinterpret dance as a sexual invite. That is the downside but I ignore it till they go away, I am there for the live music, the smiles, the joy the band feels when others are enjoying them, yep all pure joy to me. I am Pisces with moon in Pisces as well and a Princess too, at 68 still judged for not working a normal job or hardly working at all, I am way too full of self doubt to fit in to shops, they can steal off me too easily, and office work is soul destroying I found myself caring for peoples problems before finishing dead lines, I will be looking for further encouragement from you sweet princess.

Your voice sounds a little bit like Susan Sarandon. Also, you’re spot on about the intuition. I used to volunteer at a café that was based in someone’s home. The husband of the woman who ran the café lived in the house and gave me the creeps. I always had a bad feeling about him. He sometimes walked around without a shirt on. He wasn’t fit and he was old tall and skinny. He made me really uncomfortable just by his presence. A couple months later I found out from my dad that this man had been cheating on his wife. The woman had told my dad and was in tears and said that she had recently found out. My parents were surprised and astounded that I had this intuition about him and it turned out to be right. they said to me “well, Hope definitely called it. She had that feeling about him and she was right”.

On my own I knew beong sensitve is a gift for you're able to be intune and understand more of what gos on around amd within. I often get told I am too sensitive. When I am, it turns cold for at that point I know I'm already misunderstood. In hearing from someone else that an relate, it makes me proud of myself for what I do know hoeever I do doubt myself a lot. This was confirmation that nothing is wrong me with me, a insensitive person will never get someone that is sensitive. It's sad that it's mistaken for a weakness.

Can you elaborate on HSP and spirits? A friend just died and I see nothing but constant signs and have intense dreams and whatnot. Are we more open to signals from them? my friend's sister doesn't see them nearly as much, and I think everyone thinks I'm insane. I can't explain why I feel so much with his passing, but I am curious, because I need to debunk the fact that people think I'm some weirdo who pretends to see things. I mostly keep it to myself since no one seems to understand.

I had an older house that seemed to be a gateway of spirits and ethereal things passing thru...I got tired of it and got the house cleansed with holy water & sage and told those spirits to go to the light of God already so for 10 years I saw nothing ( others saw them too ) but four months ago I got a kiss whispered in my ear, ( a thing my husband does ) and I felt a distinct strong presence next to me...and my non hsp hubby saw someone go into the bed room when I was outside...so turned out a woman had dropped dead in her home right across the street so she had some hang time and she probably wanted us to come find her or help her or something. she had reached out to us for attention but since we did not recognize her we could not help her. Her brother found her...bless his heart. ur friend might be coming to you in dreams and im sure he does not want to frighten u just connect with ya. gb

I know how you feel... I care way less than I used to but still it's annoying. I got fired few times from various jobs most of them I wanted to leave anyways because of the toxic workplace or collective. I'm just trying to find some place where 10 assholes from workplace aren't narcs or don't have their own hidden agenda while faking emotion right into your face. For example I worked as a night receptionist in a hotel when my father died I worked normally keept calm and stayed focused and done my job. Thinking I'll do fine and maybe these people ain't the assholes and I finally found a nice place where I'll be happy. Everybody there told me it's okay and even if I do some mistakes (which I didn't only minor stuff) they'll just tell me what was wrong and it'll be ok. At the end of the month I'm fired without any reason given. And I'm forced to take it without any complaint even my boss telling me he's sorry. What a lying load of poop. His "explanation" not listed on the official documents ofc was I was supposed to sell more stuff (as a night rep when Hotel us empty lol) and they aren't able to sustain only night receptionist while he was telling me they need someone specifically for night shifts when he was taking me in. I'm not sure what the hell should I do. Be total asshole to everyone (which I probably wouldn't be able to do anyway) and use people as disposable waste and lie to their faces? Because so far that seems to be the only way these elitists in companies keep stranglehold on the positions of power they hold. They let some in but only for a short period of time but you aren't a person to them just number of hours and sum of money they need to pay. But what goes around comes around and will bite them in the ass eventually. I don't believe in god or this supernatural stuff but I know everything has a price in this world even screwing and lying to kind people.

Vladimir VojtaML i can totally relate which is why I've learned to not rush and do them right the first time. But I still have those times where the smallest mistakes stress me out I try and remind myself not to sweat the small things also because I found it as a "weakness" only because I didn't like giving others the power to upset me just by disorganizing my room, restroom, car, workplace etc. and being a competitive person this helped me with making those slight changes to my obsessive tendencies. Hope this helps.

Hi! I just found out, I am hsp, I am 57, enfp, hsp, hss, and fine with it. Manic pixie dream girl, unicorn, highly sensitive, etc..For me, being an extrovert, (enfps are ambivert really), I am in an even lower population than introverts, I truly feel like an alien! I read people so easily, I almost cant stand it somedays! 🙄 I isolate way to much, probably half the week, just processing all the stuff I took in. I feel like I turn keys for others, then get pushed away, because I read them, because, I am too deep. It really hurts me when they push me away, I give until it physically hurts,(they dont know this),but, yes!! I have a cat that pets me, my second cat that does this, the first one would literally wipe my tears. I am very in tune to nature and animals. I am up north, I drove last year to florida by myself,(cried, a lot), but I had to get away from everything, and everyone, its sooooo hard, being this sensitive!! Arghhhh...lol. I put beautiful clothes over my lamps to dim the lights. I can't handle the faucet dripping, or the buzz in our fridge. I am leaving an 18 year marriage to an istj, covert narcissist. Dated 3 years, started with name calling, then control, lots of gaslighting, even became physical. He will tell me, and has from the beginning, "people are just drawn to you". I am so lonely, I have started writing poems, they are pretty great. I wouldn't feel as comfortable telling that, but this is a safe place! If anyone could possibly tell me how to get published, that would be awesome. I will be using google to try to figure the process out. I just found this channel, I love it!! ☺ Thank you for such great information, excellent!! God bless all of us hsps, and help us to thrive!! 💞💖❤

Many of them have been realized by me but I never could relate them with hypersensitivity. After watching the video I realize that those are really hidden benefits

You sound a bit aggressive and egotistical which Makes me uncomfortable and leads me to believe that eventually everyone will experience this process as we evolve.into the higher realms . Ah I got it ! the reason I'm uncomfortable is because I feel many listeners either feeling as I do or they are turned off by the way you portrayed hsp's as full of themselves and better than others I'm not sure how or if there is one kind of hsp but in my heart we are gentle soft loving beings first with all of our individual qualities coloring in the picture but I believe a highly sensitive person would be sensitive to the feelings of others focusing on their needs and not me me me. With honest love and abundance in all things. Desired

Hi Glen, thanks for the comment. It is interesting that you felt this way because it was intended to invoke the opposite feelings. HSPs often experience much negativity about being highly sensitive; this was an attempt to help people see some positives about their trait, to bolster us up and make us feel a little better about ourselves. Are we not allowed to feel good about ourselves sometimes? I spend plenty of time feeling bad.

Ironically that is a huge issue for HSP. We neglect ourselves often and get lost in the feelings, opinions, and confines of everyone around us(potentially dangerous depending who we grow up/hang around/forced to be around). It's important that we identify our individual characteristics so we don't live our entire lives blending and faking. We need to come out of the shadows and shine. This isn't ME, ME, ME. It's learning about me to serve the world better! Deeper! Clearer! You are allowed to feel the way you do but this has nothing to do with selfishness or arrogance. Honestly I'm a little insulted you took it that way, especially as an HSP.
