I will send photos of my house once I’m done decorating it. Saving up right now. I would love to see some homes that have a more dark moody feel. I’m thinking leather, dark wood, brass pieces, maybe a mix of antique and modern art deco or old world colonial. And I’d also be really interested in seeing a ‘modern gamer’ house lol. I’m aware that the rainbow lights are notoriously not great decor, but I feel that there’s untapped potential there and wonder if anyone has been able to make it work and look balanced. I imagine they would have to go all out with retro arcade machine style decor, ambient lighting, reflective/glossy furniture… maybe. Yeah I dunno. It seems like a serious challenge. I can barely come up with how even a couch would look in that kind of space.

Reviewing viewer homes is a great format. Much more realistic and helpful than Pinterest images. Yay, Reynard!

Wow Reynard! This video is your best yet, IMO! All of these homes have so much character, they are so well thought through, lots of colour and interesting choices. And your descriptions of what makes them work so well is truly a masterclass. Brilliant! Thank you so much Reynard 🙏👍🎯

Your suggestion of not rushing to judgment made me laugh at myself for crying out, "Well, you can tell they don't have a big dog." Slowly adapting our condo to be warm, but still leaning towards hanging all the furniture on the walls & from the ceiling because of the constant German shepherd shed :)) Had to fire Roomba. Appreciate the advice on how to keep minimalist from appearing stark raving lunatic--esp. the repurposed ceramic lighting in the Doug fir wrapped island home. Thank you, Reynard.

I love how you are still able to pull lessons from spaces that aren't at all your style, it's very helpful!

I loved this format! Your breakdown of the different design concepts was very helpful. Sometimes, I just look at a picture of a room and think "I like it" (or not), but I can't articulate why. This video helped me hone in on the elements. Thanks!

Love that ceiling in the brownstone! I put a medallion around my ceiling fan's base, and it adds so much charm with the coved ceilings.

It’s the 70’s sauvie island house that did it for me. I was a little nervous using a William morris wallpaper in my laundry room, I was only going to do the shelf but now after seeing it used throughout a dining room I’m going all in, the walls are going to look amazing. Thank you!!!❤

Some of the Japandi rooms look flat. No color except the wood tones and cream. No green plants to fill and soften the space. No color in coffee table books, vases etc. some of the rooms with teal or blue walls look like they're now limited to ONLY "repeating" teal. The '70's home looks like it's lost in a SEA of wood. Wood is beautiful, but it needs contrast to appreciate it.

Could you please do a video on the order of design? For example do you hire designer first and then architect or contractor if you are doing kitchen remodel plus new furniture and paint and floors?
@rayray94486 сағат бұрын
Architect for the house drawings and plans, Contractor for the build structure, and finally Designer for the finish and stylings. Contractors vary so can work in both the start, middle and end of the project dependent on experience and skill

Hi. I’m renovating an old wooden structure in Kyoto Japan that was once a silk weaving factory. I’m renovating it in an industrial style. Is that something that you would be interested in for your channel ?

What color wheel are you looking at? I am an artist. Orange is across from blue on the color. Red is opposite from green. Violet is opposite from yellow. No Brown, no black, no white on the color wheel as a color of and in itself. So again, what wacky color wheel are you looking at? Maybe a trip to an eye doctor would help you to view the color wheels bit more accurately.

On the high tv placement comment: I agree that the TV is quite high, but it is a Frame TV that displays artwork as a screensaver, so it functions more like an art piece than a regular TV, which may not be used as frequently. I learned this from setting it up in my own home.
