Wish I had you as a teacher in university. Not those nitwits that were paid to read out slides they wrote 7 years prior.

Great videos, Akash! Despite the fact I know all these, it is really cool to see them as a tutorial online.

Thanks mate! Yea, these are quite simple concepts as they are. Trying to build up to the more complicated stuff.

hello akash sir, old subscriber and your student here. I have a doubt, when you master a project. I should sound 'louder' but how much loud is loud enough. No matter how much I push the gain knobe in my daw's mastering chain... it just increases the volume level but when I listen to the music of record lebals they always sound very loud.. what am I lacking??
@akashmurthy2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, there is no easy answer. A lot of it has to do with the source material and how it's mixed. Rich and varied content which is spread out across the entire frequency range is important. Good stereo separation is important. Just pulling up the gain slider doesn't do much. You'll be clipping the peaks of the tracks and there's only so far you can take it before you start getting distortion. Learn about compression, and how you can use a compressor to pull up the lower levels of your track. Limiter does a similar thing, and could be used at the mastering stage.

@@akashmurthy Thanks a lot sir, I hope someday you will be showing on actual mix how to achieve that.

Akash sir, would you like to make a tutorial video about ambisonic and spherical wave and explain if any relationship between in practical application.. Thank you.😊

Hello, sorry, I don't think those topics fit in anywhere into the series I'm working on at the moment. If there are more requests for the same topics, I might consider it.

Thank you for replying to me sir, can you make a video about different types of amplitude panning methods i.e vector based amplitude panning (VBAP) which is related to current topic amplitude and loudness, I think...Thank you sir 😊

@@subhajitdebnath9085 yea, I guess I can cover this topic. Thanks for the suggestion.
