Great video and plants! I have the fungii and sipitangensis and sarawak. I love the flowers on the multiflora!

@@planttherapy1860 Thanks. If you don't have a multiflora, you should try one. They're really, really easy, far easier than you'd expect, and those blooms... Whew..

I have 3 Bella’s and 2 are blooming like crazy at the moment, it’s just the inner variegated one that hasn’t bloomed for me yet. All grown from small cuttings as I like to grow Hoyas from cuttings. Several others have bloomed in the last month Heuschkeliana, Krimson Queen, Princess, Carmelae, Sunrise, Lacunosa, Pubicalyx and my Compacta and Obovata are about to gift me some blooms. I grow everything in pon and please don’t judge me but they are all in terracotta and always have been, I guess it’s what they are used to and know no different. Love watching your Hoya videos, the Multiflora has been on my wish list for a while as the blooms are so unique

I don't judge anyone for growing in what works for them. All that matters is that it works and the plants grow. As I say: "Alive, then thrive". This is a great time of year - in the Northern Hemisphere - for Hoyas, everybody's on the bloom bus. Thanks for watching and telling us about your Hoyas.

I started my hoya journey in Oct. And I host a plant Swap and Sale twice a year. One of my sweet friends gifted me a multiflora in April. It is loving my pavilion and pond growing. I can't wait until it blooms

WOW!! Your multiflora is big! Mine just finished blooming but I couldn’t smell any type of fragrance. It is beautiful and has very interesting blooms! I have found that it doesn’t like to dry out either. (found out the hard way)

I agree with you on the multiflora being a relatively easy Hoya and yes it doesn’t like to dry out. Two weeks after I got mine it put out blooms and blasted them because I let it get too dry. Then it bloomed again and it held onto those blooms for a long time because I kept the soil moist. Great Hoya. Tfs
@PlantedInRI7 ай бұрын
It is. And after mine blasted a few times it doesn't even faze me anymore; it just happens sometimes. Mine's in a self-watering pot which helps with the "even-ness of watering". Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.

My sipitangensis went kaput! It was nice and healthy for a year! Can't figure out what happened. No overwatering or dry root rot. Tall and robust Multiflora I gave to my friend in New Jersey and kept a new stem cutting. The leaves are so eh! Your Bella is muy bella! I lost 3 over the years listening to those who really didn't understand any more than I did. I finally figured it out, don't let dry out, likes temp on the slightly cooler side and it's flurishing in a good mix. Now fungii I think is underrated. It's so pretty! Funny thing is mine flowered last week and it seems as tho the flower zapped all of her strength, so her leaves are limp! I sprayed lightly with sulfur and little potassium powder. I'm so disappointed. I hope she revives😕. I might have to cut her up 😢. Thanks again for sharing and the tips👍🏽Dee, NY

I've heard a couple of people mention Hoyas just up and dying, and an H nicholsoniae did that to me. As The Little Prince said: "what can one do?" I've noticed that throughout the flowering process most of mine are thirstier than usual, so I try and keep an eye on that. Thanks for watching and sharing your experiences.

Hi thank you so much for sharing I have been struggling with my hoya bella for about a year now and still struggling it had one peduncle and dropped it. I must try your method and see if I can continue with what's left. Your Hoyas are awsome ❤
@PlantedInRI7 ай бұрын
Thanks. My approach is: if something's not working, it's time to try something else. If you can, you could try taking a couple of cuttings to root, and once they have, try different set-ups. Self-watering, wick-based pots can be very helpful for H bella. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.

They’re beautifully grown! I have a Bella I potted up this spring, but it seems to need water every four days- would it need to be potted up already?
@PlantedInRI7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and asking your question. Without knowing the setup for your H bella I can't say for sure, but they are thirsty plants, especially if they are putting out a lot of growth. With warmer weather, a lot of my Hoyas are more thirsty than usual. Thanks again.

Where do you get your pon? Love it❤
@PlantedInRI6 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. It's not labeled and sold as "pon". It's a generic blend I found at Amazon that comes close the the recipe for the brand name - minus the fertilizer. In the description, there's a link to my Amazon storefront if you'd like to see the ones I get
@BryanGjevre7 ай бұрын
Does your H bella usually bloom this time of year? I hear you. if Im burned by after following someone’s advice I move on. Have you ever done a repot video?
@PlantedInRI7 ай бұрын
My H bellas - three of them - bloom several times throughout the year. If I'm staying on top of the watering/feeding there'll be three or four bloom cycles troughout the year. I haven't thought about a repot video 'cause I usually don't watch them - plant comes out of pot, plant goes into pot. But it might be interesting, and perhaps triggering, to show what I do when I receive a new Hoya and move it to pon. I'll think about that. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.
@BryanGjevre7 ай бұрын
I’m super curious to actually see the potting mix/pon? you mention in your videos and how you deal with the roots that grow into the water reservoir of the self-watering pots.🤔
@PlantedInRI6 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. I use a generic mix sold on Amazon. It's not sold as "pon". Typically pon is equal parts of pumice, lava rock, and zeolite. For reference, you can see what I use in my Amazon storefront - link in description. Roots that get into the reservoir? I just let 'em grow. If they get too out of hand I trim them. It's not so much that Hoyas hate having their roots in water, it's that they hate having them in suffocating wet soil.

Is your fungi in pon?

It is, in a self-watering, wick-based pot. Most of my Hoyas are, it works well for me. Thanks for watching and asking your question.
