I do love H lacunosa. For me they are good, steady growers, and it's easy to get carried away with them. Mona from PlantTherapy added a few more to my collection, so including the H krohniana there are now around twenty. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.

Many thanks for sharing your Lacunosa, they are all lovely! I will be looking for the Amarillo, the Poonsak - you gotta love that name - the Laos and the Royal Flush. You’re right about the Snow Caps requiring more light to get the silver/white specks. Mine came from Lowes and was over watered. I lost about one third of the plant but two years later she is fat, full and filled out. She gets the Sun from the East and it helps her keep her color. Happy growing to all of us! 👌🪴🥰

The lacunosa bloom is quite potent. Heavy perfume smell. I cannot grow the Exotic Angel lacunosas. They grow four actually: royal flush, snow caps, ruby sue, and all green. They are instant death plants. So I'm impressed you are able to keep them alive.
@PlantedInRI5 ай бұрын
I try to get the EA Hoyas - lacunosa and others - out of that "soil" right away; within a few days of bringing them home. It's fine for rooting, but it's not the best for growing. I lift the whole thing out of the pot and rinse off as much as possible and then replant them in a very airy mix. They pout for a bit, but they typically bounce back. Thanks for watching and adding your comment.

I love lacunosa, there are so many different kinds and the flowers smell great, they seem to be a reliable grower and bloomer. I have several different kinds, but just bought the laos, have royal flush, silver, varigated, and a krohniana silver, bruno tricolor, and unknown seedling. They were grown last year by seed and already have peduncles.. There are sooo many. Love your sunroom for plants, perfect hoya conditions. Thanks for your video.

@PlantedInRI5 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. All of ine grow in pon-ish and a self-watering pot, but I think a good "airy" mix would work as well. In self-watering they have access to as much moisture as they would like. Mine are under grow lights (sometimes a bit too close) and get twelve hours a day. I also feed them with a hydroponic nutrient solution since they are in pon-ish. Thanks for watching and asking.

I was just musing that your lovely lacunosas are on the flat back hanging pots and are all one sided , like they are hanging on a grid rack ? But I know you said they are somehow on shelves , not the walls ?
@PlantedInRI2 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. I have added a wire grid to the back and sides of some of my plant shelf units, which lets me use them for either standing or hanging plants. I gives me a lot of flexibility, and by staggering the position of the plants I can fit quite a few in a small space. Thanks for watching and for your question.

I noticed you have some self watering pots do you use mainly soil or PON? What has been your success for propogating these? I haven’t had a high success rate in PON or soil. Any tips? Tfs
@PlantedInRI5 ай бұрын
I love self-watering pots for my hoyas, and most of my Hoyas are in pon-ish (I don't use the brand name). Pon is also what I use to propagate, and I have pretty good success. I have a couple of "shorts" showing what I do. I have started using my nutrient solution instead of plain water for rooting. Hope they're helpful. I don't think they're clickable, you may need to copy and paste. I've become a believer in "root 'em in what you're gonna grow them in". Thanks for watching kzbin.infoBZI6OT42ThM kzbin.infoYlsq4hC9iXY

@@PlantedInRI they did link. Thank you. I also agree with prop to what they are going into. Kevin with hukana I thought propped his plants keeping the water up to the top. I see you are only allowing the bottom to stay moist. I will try your way as when I fill to top they seem to rot and they get air circulation. Thanks

Thanks for your question. H lacunosa Durian Perangin isn't always easy to get going. I'm happy to try and help. Can you tell me a bit about how you're trying to grow the plants: what kind of medium you are using, what kind of container, did you buy rooted plants or cuttings, what kind of light they get, how often you water, things like that. What symptoms did the plant show before it died? Thanks for watching.
