That isn't a bad trainer at all imo. It easily fits into Pyro/Frost imo. "A song of fire and ice" is still a great comp. As soon as I saw the golem I thought of that build

It pretty much filled in all the gaps the Pyro/Frost has. Vangurd - Warwick Bastion - Shen, Dianna Hunter - Olaf, Twitch So you could easily add one bastion if you need more tank, and one hunter if you need more damage. My first thought was also Frost/Dragon (same as the video). When I run that build, it had 3 hunters and no vanguard for Warwick and no bastion for Dianna, so it would literally be perfect for that one.

Pyro/Frost has no gaps in either Bastion or Hunter (both stand a 2 normally) so slotting in the Golem would require you to field another +1 to have any value (3 Hunter, 3 Bastion does nothing). And playing Vanguard for just Warwick is not worth it, he's hardly a unit without 3* and items. Golem are much more valuable if they fill gaps in your comp instead of creating new ones or if they allow you to reach otherwise unreasonable breakpoints like Hunter 6 here.

I dunno, if it was anything other than Hunter it’s pretty bad I think. One wasted emblem vs. somebody who high rolls like portal/scholar/bastion or something like that

you absolutely need a frost emblem to play that comp, the emblem is the most valuable part of the comp because it is a free item when playing vertical frost and helps you hit 7 frost early, also varus nasus is not even the highest cap, you really need briar and smolder for the comp to top 3

I’ve always thought that maybe a golden reforger would be opening up a selection between 3 components or items, is that something that sounds viable?

Golden usually implies unlimited so that would be confusing to call it that. It is a good idea for an upgraded reforger though - basically turns it into an anvil. I like it. 👍

I'd be the one guy sitting on the "3 Champions" portal, especially in ranked. I much prefer gold and silver augments to prismatic ones. If you don't get just the right one, you get absolutely fucked by someone that did. They can be fun, but also make it harder to keep up if you don't get a good one Trainer golems much the same. I think they're fun as hell in normal when I can just try shit I wouldn't normally. In ranked, it's frustrating because you might get a bad one, or a decent one, but someone would get Portal, Scholar, Mage or Multistriker, Pyro, Arcane and wipe the board, and it puts way more emphasis into RNG IMO

I feel that you take ranked games too seriously, which is fine , but TFT is a game after all my friend, don't take the fun out of it for a mere ranking which doesn't affect you irl 🥂

I agree with this. I started in set 2, I sometimes feel this way about augments in general. They create lot more swing and adds a whole other level to the meta that was hard to learn. Now that I know it it's not too bad but there is just a whole lot of variance still.

The only thing I will say. How awful it feels getting both vanguard and Bastion on a trainer. Because one trait is almost alwayys ignored

It gives you 2 xp per each time you buy it, it can appear multiple times, specifically stage 3 and 4 , first time you buy it it gives 2xp, second time 4xp , 6 xp third time, that's if you actually find it that many times

The gamble is exciting, solving the puzzle of "what would fit these 3 emblems" , maybe you just got unlucky way too many times, maybe you don't like puzzles, valid reasons to hate it, but these are the reasons why i really enjoy this portal

Hi Mort, I just got 6th place with 3 star viego. He just jumped to the back line, dealt no damage and got his ult continuously interrupted, and died to 2 star vel'koz. How can you make a 5 cost this bad?

Just came here to say how stupid the 5.5 revival Pyke augment is. Absolutely broken, breaks the entire game's balance, whoever gets it insta wins... so stupid :(
