LEGO destiny: Went to local LEGO store the day before this video dropped. Happened to notice these azure 4x8 semicircular plates on the Pick-a-Brick wall. Being mainly a builder of things that move, thought nothing of them. Then came the video in my feed. Rushed back the next morning. Crammed 239 of them into 2 large cups. Now the proud owner of the torus -- a beautiful object -- with 50 left over to fool around with. Love this channel! Thanks for putting the parts counts in the description.

I really liked the rocking one and the final shape. I feel like the last one could easily be fixed to a plate and mounted vertically as a cool decoration. It's pretty astounding how many different shapes you can pull off with a base of just 3 halfmoon pieces

I love how this channel shows off some of the more creative uses of Legos; you really can make all kinds of structures you wouldn't think bricks were capable of!

Most are illegal techniques but are fine for non-official builds, but you can do a lot of this sort of thing with legal techniques, too, all it takes is a bit of creativity and geometry knowledge. I tend to be a bit of a stickler for legal techniques in my own builds (just personal preference), but there's a lot of inspiration to be taken here. Some that I've done in the past are a spiral made out of angled liftarms (which I'm hoping to turn into a screw lift GBC module) and a perfect 12-sided polygon made from squares and triangles.

I assume you could simply make it wider by adding another layer of a full circle. So instead of constructing the donuts like "half circle plate, 2 half circle plates, half circle plate, 2 half circle plates" you‘d do "half circle plate, 2 half circle plates, 2 half circle plates, half circle plate, 2 half circle plates, 2 half circle plates".
