Because the 1920s was the beginning of the modern age in America, there were a lot of developments in technology, science, and consumer products. There was also an insatiable appetite for discovery and adventure. Let's take a look at some of these things.

This is exactly why I love the 1920s so much! It was a time of such rapid technological advancements. It’s a fascinating era!

It’s cool to see how peoples’ fascination & obsession with old timey stuff has always been alive and well. Just as the people of the 20s were in love with the old times of King Tut etc, I’m in love with the old times of their days! It’s such a cool thing we all share

Cheezborger! Cheezborger! Cheezborger! That old SNL skit immediately came to mind when I saw the word cheeseburger in this video. That and the fact that those early SNL years are almost as far in the past now as the 1920s were then. Excuse me, I'm feeling a bit hungry now, not to mention old.

You forgot to mention Philo Farnsworth and his interlaced scanning television. That was the standard for all CRT televisions until flat screens came out.

You read my mind of some of those! I have videos in progress that include 2 or 3 of those topics :) As for the others, all are great choices! I'll get around to all of them at some point.

I'd definitely be interested in a video about Felix the Cat or 1920s animation in general.

I was thinking Penicillin was discovered in 1940, not the 1920s, then you explained its importance in WWII. Me: Ah, that's why I was thinking that!

No one could figure out how to grow large amounts of it until the oxygenated corn steep liquor process in the 40s which enabled it to become economically produced in vast quantity.

Did you know that during World War II both the Allies and the German's had television cameras used in the noses of some weapons that could be "steered" by the bombers that dropped these weapons to guiode them to their targets, either warships or specific buildings, like factories.

Do you have any footage of normal people engaged in a normal conversation, that's not scripted, nor acting, nor an interview? That would be extremely fascinating to see how they really talked back then

Marconi had used his wife's money to set up radio transmitters, where as Tesla was not a good business man, but a brilliant inventor. Marconi latter backed Beneto Mussolini so duly list lost his US Patents rights to radio in favour of the Tesla inventions and rightly so because he used the ideas and didn't invention them. Australian soprano Dame Nellie Melba was the first to transmit her music via marconi's radio at his chlemsford studio on 15th of June 1920.

Good flick. But correction reference 1st radio transmission to the public for profit. It was transmission of a sold out sporting event with area listening stations/stands (for the public) set up to sell radios.

5:24 How did Dr Warner Alexanderson make the first television broadcast in 1928 when John Logie Baird had made a public television broadcast in 1926 (and had moved on to colour TV broadcasts by 1928?) I don't know, Americans! If it didn't happen in America it didn't happen. You'll be claiming that Edison invented the light bulb next.😉
