1.Starting Wherever You Are
Working to achieve something is hard. Battling adversity as we work on a project, or just in day-to-day life is even harder. Progress demands seeing beyond the frustrations and fears that strike on a daily basis. Staying the course requires that we put aside frustrations over results and improvements that come infrequently and on a smaller scale than might be desirable.
2.Never Except Favours Replace It with Cash.
From small favors (“Could you cover for me on the conference call tomorrow?”) to the more onerous (“Can you please introduce me to your contact at Nike?”), we are all in the habit of asking one another for help. Keith Ferrazzi’s bestselling Never Eat Alone highlighted our personal interconnectivity at home and at work. It’s human nature: we rely on our network of friends, family and colleagues to help us in life. No one can go it alone.
3.Whatever Has Happened Happen For Reason
Let’s say that I’m on my way to work to give a big presentation to a huge prospective client. It’s a big deal. On the way , I get a flat tire. It’s now clear that I’m going to be late. It’s now clear that the presentation that I need to be there for - to hopefully close the deal with a huge client - is in danger.
This client means a huge commission boost for me, which my family is really depending on. It also means gaining a lot of respect at work, for being able to bring on big clients and add value to the company. And this flat tire endangers all of that.
4.Live Is a Journey.
What is the meaning of “Life is a Journey?” This is what I think it means: Life is about LIVING. We can't know what is coming and we need to enjoy every day instead of trying to “arrive.” We should enjoy the unfolding and the process.
5.Take Some Time For Making Decisions.
Since decision making is usually a time consuming process, time is an important resource for making optimal decisions. The allocation of less time than what is needed for making decision can cause a feeling of time stress and can harm the optimality of the decision making process
