If I gotta have more than three outboards just give me two inboard diesels. Jeez. It'd take two hours just to flush all those at the end of the day not to mention parts and maintenance for 6 high end engines. That's just showing off.
@paulmorrow8372
@paulmorrow8372 Жыл бұрын
Shockingly, I think this is done to make maintenance easier over an inboard engine. All of these can be serviced from the top. They have a “hood” that pops up for regular maintenance. Fewer through holes below the waterline in the hull too. And if something goes wrong you can just pull off the motor and drop another on. Often with large inboards the boat is built around the engine. Overhauls/rebuilds have to be done with those motors in place many times.

That 59’ is a beast. Gorgeous vessel as well. But that thing will move. I don’t know how many people have gone 80-100 mph on water but it’s completely different than doing that on the street. My buddy who is a multi millionaire and moved down to Florida about ten years ago from VA loves boats and has had boats ever since I have known him which was back in 2000. He had some supercharged Yamaha’s jet ski’s or Sea-Doo’s whatever people call them and we use to take them out on the inner coastal in VA by route 13 which is the Kellam bridge tunnel and those things went 80-85mph on the water. That is scary going that fast on the water. It took me a couple sections just to get it up to full throttle because that’s fast. I can’t imagine what a rush it must be for those drivers doing 200mph on the water. It has to be insane

@CheeryRhymes
@CheeryRhymes Жыл бұрын
@@DurzoBlunts that's not really relevant and not really an absolute... 1: we're obviously talking about planing hulls 2: more of a guideline because it's well documented that boats due to their hull design can exceed that formula by a handy margin 3: it's about diminishing returns and not an absolute limitation (with enough power you could of course send the vessel straight through its own bow wave) 4: more a limitation of the physics of bow and stern waves essentially forcing the stern to drop causing the boat to be pushing up an incline rather than the output of 1 verse 2 engines of the same rating 5: with enough power you could force almost any displacement hull into a planing hull
