3:08 - if I remember correctly, "Map Men" did a video about special "errors" on maps, even on the google maps and alike - streets that doesn't exist, villages that doesn't exist and so on. And the reason is - some kind of catching fraudulent copying. And it is kind of old trick. So we shouldn't dismiss the possibility that this Island was drawn there specifically as a "copyright" trick.

Their explanation likely doesn't apply to maps that old nor does the embellishment idea. The most likely explanation is that the island either collapsed and/or the marking of it on the map is incorrect as the video doesn't mention the fact that there is a smaller island around 100 miles away that wasn't listed on maps until around 100 years ago.

the tree growth thing was also noted in the famous Travis Walton UFO abduction case. Idk if abduction holds any water, but this guy was gone for a week, his friends were put on trail for his murder, and then he mysteriously appears in the middle of no where in rough shape. When they went back to the site of the incident (that many people witnessed), all the trees in the area had incredible growth spikes, but only on the sides of the tree's facing where this supposed event occurred. Very interesting.

Travis Walton and his crew almost certainly made that story up. They had a tree clearing contract with the Forrest Service to clear an area of old growth and were behind schedule. Rather than be found "at fault" for failing to meet the contract deadline they fabricated the incident to get out of the contract. I think they used alien abduction because it can't be proven or disproven, unlike faking an accident or injury, so they couldn't be charged with fraud. If you listen to Walton talk about his story, he's very evasive about details and tries to steer interviews away from the incident. It's very suspicious.

About the abandoned viaduct in Brazil: its actually pretty common here to have a huge estructure half done and abandoned. Mostly its all about politics and politicians: they get their votes with promises so they have to start something. the center of the earth is some 6000 km below surface. The Kona borehole went about 12 km. 12/6000 is about 0.2 % of the way (and that is the furthest humans have gotten). No one was trying to reach the center of the earth. Reaching the mantle was the longshot goal (which is why the US did it where the crust is really thin yet still failed, but that was mostly because of the depth of seawater being the problem, deep sea drilling being fairly rudimentary at the time). Also, the US work was done when the Plate Tectonics Theory was still being argued (circa 1960), not proven by wealth of evidence, so getting to the mantle would have been a huge scientific feat and would presumably add support for the theory. The Russian work was later and was mostly an attempt to get very very deep, to demonstrate technology. They did.

I think the theory on the dogs and the bridge disproves itself, If they were mainly hunting breeds the. They wouldn't jump off the bridge a second time, they are much smarter than that 😮

There is another "Bermeja" in the Canary Islands, an Island called San Borondon. It exists on ancient maps and can sometimes still be seen, especially from La Palma and El Hierro..but it's simply not there

Well, the number of „dog suicides“ from the Overtoun Bridge seems well documented. One study found that male mink are enticing to dogs over other small animals (a theory first put forward by the owner of Overtoun Castle) and it was speculated that the foliage hides how steep the fall is. None of the pet protection organizations seem satisfied that the reason is fully discovered. And peculiarly, none of the articles specifically stated any reason why mink would be more prevalent at Overtoun that at other Scottish bridges…
