You really great teacher. You start with very simple move then you ramp it up and gets more and more complicated and it sounds great just like professional. Your demonstration with jam track at the end really make the lesson very complete. If we want to learn only one lesson, this is it!. Thank you very much Chief! Cheers from Indonesia.

This was great, I been tryin to find out about "lead guitar lessons advanced" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Wanichael Corylexander Equalizer - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my neighbour got cool results with it.

Grand work. You see, I was missing a lot of basic riffs. Also, your plain-of-mind theory was bolted together strongly and tightly. You left no hapless unconnected spaces for the student. You joined hands and mind for the student.

Guys, a bunch of comments already asking for tone. Would please let us know if it’s pedal or dirty channel on amp? Sounds great and awesome lesson. Thank you.
@rockongoodpeople
@rockongoodpeople 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank and thank you for watching this lesson. I believe the gear setup we used with this lesson was the Fender strat plugged right into an Ibanez TS9 tube screamer. Then out of the pedal into the front of the clean channel on the amp - the amp is an all tube Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12 combo amp with 6L6 tubes. The pedal is in front of the amp - not in the effects loop. Thats huge as with the pedal in front of the amp it will drive the amp a little harder. On the pedal the level is high and the drive or gain is low. Only other effect is a little bit of amp reverb. Thats it - simple setup. Stay tuned - lots more killer content and lessons coming soon. Have a rocking day and let me know if you have any other questions. Rock on! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc. PS - I also wanted to let you know that I have a new record that I just released with my original band, MIND CELL - the brand new Mind Cell new record, Absolute, is now available on most digital platforms. Check out the new slamming record here on: Amazon - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VYTQCBB Spotify - open.spotify.com/album/5ffzG3YPXJJq8O1Z1Q8JZY iTunes - music.apple.com/us/album/absolute/1475134471? Deezer - www.deezer.com/us/album/105919212 Apple Music - music.apple.com/us/album/absolute/1475134471 Tidal - tidal.com/browse/album/114568179 Is also on most other digital platforms like Google Play, I Heart Radio, and more - just search for "Mind Cell - Absolute". I'm already an accomplished guitar player with over 40 years of playing behind me. As far as being a metal, hard rock and punk guitarist is concerned. That being said. My lead style is heavily influenced by Ace Frehly, Mick Mars, Kirk Hammett and Warren DiMartini. I'd say i.p.o have a blues based metal lead style based on how metal players use the blues. Being bored with shredding I have decided to learn some blues licks. Your video here is the first one to pop up in my search. Great video dude. Awesome. You are filling in the blanks for me and making sense of it. You got a like and sub from me. I'm going to plug in right now. One question. Is it better to play in E standard or E flat for blues?

Hi there and thank u so much for watching and for ur kind words - most appreciated. As far as Eb tuning its a personal preference or often a preference of the singer if you are playing with a band. For the guitar Eb tuning sounds a tad heavier and its easier to bend strings. I love the sound of Eb tuning. So it depends on player preference. And be sure to take a good look around the channel as I have tons of killer content and lessons lots of fun stuff. Enjoy and stay tuned - lots more content coming soon. For years....I've had such a hard time with bends. This is a perfect example. When I bend w my ring finger, the above string (d in this case) almost always ends up riding up my fingernail. Is this uncommon? Any advice how to change the habit? Maybe I'm using too much of my fingertip rather than the meatier part of my finger? Thanks for the video. It's a great little lick exercise.

Hi and thank you for watching this lesson. Actually the issue you describe is very common and I see many students that have a similar issue of the string getting under the nail when bending. I can help - check to make sue your string bending technique is on point - here is one of my lesson with my best string bending tips - watch this and see if it helps and let me know - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mn7Pd32Kd9-CitU - thanks for watching and enjoy the journey and stay positive - you will get there - enjoy and rock on! -David Taub, Next Level Guitar Inc.

Hey Dave I know this video is a couple years old now but just wondering if that strat you have there is a custom shop one or your original one that you've had for years. I'm just curious because there seems to be alot of people out there now buying custom shop strats instead of taking the years and effort to relic their guitars lol. if that's your original strat and it's not a custom shop i must commend you on the fret wear... it really looks like it's been played and loved.

Hi - the start that Dave is using in this lesson is actually a strat that was relic by Mark Jenny of MJT guitars. Mark does an amazing job of relicing guitars - really good. This was an impulse buy as I was not looking to buy one as I was in a guitar store checking out an amp and I just so happened to pick up this guitar and play it and I loved the feel of the neck. Its an amazing neck feel. So broken in and just right on. Texas special pickups and its a great guitar for that bluesy stuff. So I ended up buying it and have had it many years now. There are a lot of relic type guitars out there where the relic job is not that great - but MJT does a killer job. Thanks for watching and please stay tuned as I have lots more killer content and lessons coming soon and if you haven't as yet please subscribe to the channel. Hi Jody and thanks for watching our lessons. Actually that strat style guitar used in this lesson was relied by Mark Jenny of MJT guitars. He makes some of the best relied guitars and I wasn't even looking for a relied guitar but I picked it up at a music store and the neck felt so amazing and the tone was great so it was kind of an impulse buy - but its an awesome guitar. It has the big headstock like the 70s strats. I think its just a strat neck and he did the body. Check out some of hi work - awesome! Mate would you recommend upgrading pickups on a mim Strat?
@rockongoodpeople
@rockongoodpeople 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc and thank for watching our lessons. Regarding swapping pickups on a MIM strat - it all depends on what sounds you are going for. Personally I like the pickups on the mid and late 1990s MIM strats - those pickups are very hot. Then it seems the changed pickups in 2000 and they got much weaker in my opinion. I played side by side examples and the difference is huge. So it also depends on what year your strat is and what style of music you play. Hope that helps. Take care and please subscribe to our channel and keep on rocking - and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! -David T, NLG

GAH! I can't believe I didn't bother to learn this stuff before. Been playing guitar for over 20 years, self taught metal guitar and never touching a solo... I've been practicing this for 6-7 hours and I can honestly play a half decent blues solo. I didn't know a single scale, I just created/played breaks and flourishes by ear. I've recently been diagnosed with ADHD, which probably were why I've always shunned away from stuff I consider complicated. In reality, though, I've been doing it complicated and this is actually very easy. Well, not easy but far easier than what I've been trying to do...

Hi and thank you for checking out this lesson. You need to employ the two handed muting technique to kill all that string noise from inadvertently hitting the other strings. Basically you mute out all the strings you are not playing by muting with both hands. I teach the technique in this video - check this out as it will really help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6K1fIaNntaor9E - And thank u so much for checking out this video - really appreciated. The first lick (bending the G-string while keeping the B-string in place) is problematic with guitars that have certain kinds of tremolos, because bending one string makes the next string go slightly flat: so even if you manage to keep the B-string in place while bending the G-string, the B-string will still sound flat.
