Both teams hung on till the last minute! Good intensified game of rugby! It was worth watching the whole match! Nigel Owens would be my pick out of all the people who were engaged during 80 minutes! The manner he controlled heated situations was fascinating to watch. Even saw him helping a player to stand up! An asset to the game!

What annoys me in this game is to see the scrum. IRB changed the rules after the 2010 tournament, because the French were largely dominant. It's a shame to irb, this rule was to counter our "small" pillars. Anyway, with two thirds of the Anglo-Saxon countries in the World Cup, we know very well that the French was, is and always will be penalized. But hey, it's rugby, victories becoming more beautiful. Long life to this noble sport.......

Do not know how we lost this. Deserved to win and had it not been for a ridculous bounce for that second try we would've won and farrell missed 5 points
@theric669 жыл бұрын
in 2013 England won by scoring a try which shouldn't have counted as the player pick up the ball in an off side position,and rugby is so unpredictable because of the shape of the ball lots of games are decided by that particular ball.

I'm American, this is awesome. In a way rugby is like American football minus the forward throwing and adding way more lateral passes. Look up this play by cal, it's Litteraly called "the play" in it they do a bunch of lateral passes on a kick return and win the game at the last second. So unexpected that the opposing teams marching band came on the field celebrating what they thought was a win. My point is I bet cal watched a WHOLE LOT of rugby in order to pull of the play.

Personally I thought Mike Brown's try was a knock-on as he was losing the ball forward as he touched down. He had lost control of the ball and then the ground intervened. Nigel Owens gave the try straight away but the replay showed what actually happened. These borderline decisions happen of course in every game. That's what makes for the after game debates in the pub. :))

One of the better games from both these teams in a while. Go France awesome game, they got 4 lessons from the all blacks last year, most teams get better from that, look at Ireland as well. ABs and SA still have nothing to worry about from these teams.

@xpat7310 жыл бұрын
I am English and I don't buy ever the line "we deserved to win." Either you get enough points to win or you don't. The French got a couple of cheap tries at the start and rode their luck. England's subs were awful and we lost. Congrats France.
@pconcannon10 жыл бұрын
I agree, but I think the French tries in the first half came from bad organisation on England's part, the 2nd one especially.
@loluntilmypie10 жыл бұрын
***** I hope you realise but the more the "arrogance" card is played against us English, the more it backfires and just makes you look a little TOO narrow-minded to make any other considerations other than it being all down to "pure English arrogance". It's about time you got real, any neutral would say those first two tries were fluke. Not taking anything away from France, they still won the game fair and square.
@pconcannon10 жыл бұрын
***** With the bad organisation comment I'm thinking about what happened at Huget's breakaway from 48.16 - 48.25 - Goode not making a tackle on Huget but instead running back and getting in the way of Nowell? I think that was sloppy

You don't deserve something unless you get it, true. I think you could argue that England were unlucky to lose though: two bounces of the ball and two tries for the french. Having said that, they did well to capitalize on their chances

I hate to be hypocritical, but what the hell kind of fans are the French? Always consistently booing during the game, especially when the away team's kicker is kicking for goal, whenever France make a mistake and when possession is being kicked away! This happens week in week out in the Top 14 and the Heineken Cup, especially against Celtic and English opposition! Clearly the word "respect" went in one ear and out the other! And the fact they try to expect so much of France is crazy, because that just pressurizes France to do as hard as they can!

The French booed the Americans for an entire match in 1924, when the US won the Olympic gold metal. Of course, in the same stadium which is today used by Racing Métro 92. Which reminds me, I wonder if Benoît Paillaugue will ever move to Paris again? Stange question, oh well....

1:33:12 looks like a try to me; his left elbow is on and over the line and his right arm that's carry the ball is only slight further back. The funny thing is if this had been awarded England probably would have been Grand Slam winners. Cheers to the unofficial best and most unlucky team in the NH the last 2 years! why are yoiu speaking about international ? almost all the referees are English speaking! ..... is that what you call "international"? rugby is cheated by anglo-saxons, that's a reality.
@KiwiGraggle10 жыл бұрын
This was a truly mental game. The first half I have not seen a game so all over the shot as this, but it was fantastic to watch. England did well to come back into it considering the lack of experience in the backs. England dangerous side, even with the lacking experience in that backline they had against France. We all know that England can field a better side as well. This bows well for the RWC2015. France not looking to bad as well, similar in many ways. I hope England win this 6N and not those taffy boys that whenever they play the All-Blacks they always claim the All-Blacks cheated. Na, just NZ is just better lets get that one straight right away. Go get em England :P.
@Cougar532EHM510 жыл бұрын
All-blacks cheated, when they don't do that, we beat them during a world cup....:-) In NZ, it was supposed to be " black wash" it has been a "black cheat" thank to Mc Caw and Craig Joubert. lol
@KiwiGraggle10 жыл бұрын
Jeff WM What you mean losing 1 game since the last world cup?. No that is just plain the dogs bollocks mate,lol. As for France, well hit and miss with them, we know this. One minute they can be the best, then the next they are abysmal. Consistency is Frances only problem from being the best or certainly the only team other than SA to match the All-Blacks, I mean truly match us. I like the French side, I am well aware of what they are capable of. Just make sure you beat the bleedin Welsh please, do not let those Taffs win another 6N, cause they are cocky bastards,lol.
@KiwiGraggle10 жыл бұрын
Jeff WM PS, the last time France beat NZ by the way, I think I may have been in nappies mate?. Not sure, but I know it was a friggin long time ago, cheat or not, the record of NZ is unrivaled by any team currently. Sure it will not last forever and I think the biggest threats will come from South Africa and England. France, well if you can just get consistency and I do not mean 1 6N win, I mean a series of wins and no losses to anyone and I mean anyone for the next 18 months, then you will have proved to me, that you may be able to win in 2015 :P. Take care man :).
@Cougar532EHM510 жыл бұрын
***** I totally agree with you mate, with the French rugby team nobody knows before if they will be lions or sheeps, during the game. But I truly think that AB, England and Springboks are much more better than French on a constant basis. Sometimes but never for a long time (usually one game), we could be the best team in the world.
@Cougar532EHM510 жыл бұрын
***** When I wrote about cheating I was just meaning the Final. I agree that we arrived by the smallest hole we could get. We were bad, no plays, nothing to show. I don't like to say something about referees, they are like wind or rain, part of the game, but M Joubert didn't show his best skills during this game. In his mind as the world's mind, the world cup has to be won by AB, and this no matter what was happening in front of his eyes.... Take Care man, from south of France.

First came Soccer, then rugby, then american football- you can run the ball forward and you can kick the ball forward, You are not allowed to throw the ball forward= The man will the ball is to be in front of his teammates- it is 15 players playing as one, the field is longer and wider- the match is 80 minutes Long, the players play offense and defense
