Hey, Jared. You're right about the little nub/sharpening choil on the Muskrat. It's just there for retention and to protect your finger. The choil size was a compromise to maintain as much cutting edge as I could, being such a small knife. I'm really glad yall like it!!

Carbon fiber costs around 9-10$ per pound G-10 costs around 5-6$ I’m pretty sure it costs the same to add that thin layer of carbon fiber, due to adhesives cost, as it does to just go full carbon fiber Idk why companies are doing that

no? thats not that works. carbon fiber laminated g10 is absolutely cheaper than solid carbon fiber. these companies also arent making the CF laminated g10, theyre buying it in bulk. its a material that literally exists as a multifaceted cost saving measure. CF is not only inherently more expensive than g10 as a material, but its more expensive and difficult to machine and work with typically having lower yields of parts due to CF being prone to splitting when machined among other issues such as voids which can also affect machining. Machining CF can be a potentially expensive and wasteful endeavor and laminating a layer of CF onto g10 helps machinability and therefore yield while keeping the texture and appearance of CF.

I’m from Iowa, my family calls it pop. Very rarely call it soda, and who the hell calls all brands of pop/soda “coke”? Coke is a damn brand, coke is not the type of drink. Pop/soda is the type of drink, coke is a brand of pop/soda. If anyone is doing it wrong, it’s the people who call root beer, sprite, and Fanta “coke”

I think it’s weird also but I call all zip seal sandwich bags zip lock when that’s a brand, and I call cotton swabs q tips when that also is a brand, and Kleenex is sononomous with the brand tissue… I’m sure there are many more examples. Coke though was annoying when I worked food service and someone would ask for a Coke and I would give them a Coke and they’d say “no I wanted orange”

Also Coke isn’t a brand Coca-cola is a brand Coke is either a carbonated water (originally made with sodium bicarbonate) drunk alone or with liquor or wine. Or It’s a solid fuel made by heating coal in the absence of air so that the volatile components are driven off. Either way, if it’s got Dr. Pepper on the label, I’ll probably drink it, as Dr. Pepper is the best coke hands down

As a southerner, I don’t hate on you for calling a soft drink a soda pop. That would be like one indigenous tribe arguing with another tribe about what to call Bigfoot... That’s a cool knife that Kizer “stole” from Civivi. And I’m being facetious when I say stole! But Is it okay for a mid grade/higher end brand to “steal” a design from a mid level brand, but it’s not okay for a budget brand to steal a design from a higher end brand? Just asking for a friend....

Love extra deep clip.hope they are good quality metal and/heat treated.once a clip snags & bends,it’s never the same again.Clips need to be more than an afterthought .

My kizer crossbar sheepdog has been flicked open 10,000 times and the spring is fine. And it's a heavy blade. Have a bugout that lasted 3 weeks

I'm from Kansas, and I first ran into that pop/soda expression difference when I went to visit my father on Long Island. Also, all my life I've said, "stand in line." But out east I got told that I'd have to "stand on line" for something. I looked around and asked the guy, "what line? I don't see any! How do I stand on line when there aren't any marked anywhere." 😅 😂 Another difference was bag/sack at the grocery store.

My first Civivi was the vision FG which is one it greatest of all time , now I got a Quibit the thing locks up like a vault and came with an almost even Bevel. My only Keizer is the smolt and it's a great little EDC, the sheath does break in

Kizer is ten fold a better knife than any Civivi, and even more so than CJRB. The Drop Bear in S35VN is a steal of a deal. You would not get that anywhere else for that price.

I wish Kizer would stop putting standard flipper tabs on their knives (they just ruin the choke up grip which is how I hold a knife 90% of the time) and go to front-flippers. The Pop with a front flipper would be something that would interest me.

The fixed blades looking good as usual, but usually Kizer disappoints in the folder sept. The drop bear and the feist are the only ones that have ever gained my attention. The pop looks like it’s asking for a lawsuit, but hey it’s from china so there’s probs no problem there. In the field of the Big 4 Chinese makers (we/civivi, Vosteed, artisan/Cjrb, Kizer), Kizer is last IMO.

I grew up in Oregon and it was/is pop here also. As a kid my dad had an old pop vending machine in the garage and it took this small odd sized glass bottle and the only place you could find them was a store called the pop shop. Pop, soda, whatever, none of them are unusual but I’ve ran into people from Texas that call pop Coke. Doesn’t matter if it’s sprite or orange, it’s Coke. That to me is a bit odd.

It is called pop! When soda refers to the carbonated water that is in the beverage but the pop portion refers to is being something more. I live in the south and they call everything coke which is definitely wrong haha. Oh and that Kizer Pop is pretty cool! Carried my Qubit today and I would definitely go for a knife cut from the same cloth

clutch lock and delete the flipper and they might have a shot. the cubit is damn near perfect and thats hard to beat....flippers that push your grip back are kinda like a pet peave for me

I'm looking for a good micron size for a stropping compound, usually I use a 1000 grit aluminum oxide stone and then finish off sharpening with a 3000-4000 grit diamond whetstone. What micron size should I get

I think Kizer Drop Bear is the model Kizer made in many diferent steels- 154CM, 14C28N, LC200N, S35VN, Nitro-V, Elmax and if you know more corect me, I want to know.

I've had three lock failures with Kizer in normal use. Two buttons and a liner lock. I won't even give my Kizer knives away because I'm afraid they will hurt someone. All hype and trends, not quality
