Thank for watching! Find out more about concert production and the live music business in the rest of the series here on KZbin. I have also written a book, 'The Live Music Business', which has more details. Read about the book here: amzn.to/3u4vjkY😃

Back when I drank, one pint of Tito's vodka, (Grey Goose if no Tito's), to be delivered to the production office prior to end of show. This was for me to take on the bus, or to the hotel. Nowadays, it's a six pack of Coca Cola. (Pepsi is ok). I seem to have traded alcoholism for diabetes.😁

Bon courage in your sobriety, it's tough when you are touring. Thanks for the comment anyway, what you say is so true

Do you have one of this series dedicated to the venue perspective?
@Livemusicbusiness Жыл бұрын
Thanks for leaving a comment here. I have not really worked for a venue and so my perspective is always for the visting productions point of view. I hope this help?(And apologies for not replying sooner)

Just to clarify… if the things the artist requests in the rider l exceeded the amount in the contract the additional amount gets taken out of the artist fee?
@LivemusicbusinessАй бұрын
Not necessarily. The promoter will have allocated an amount for catering and other rider requests. If the artist’s demands exceed what has been budgeted the promoter can either supply only items to the value of the budget or decide to supply them anyway. Then, if the ticket sales, ‘break percentage’, i.e. the vs 80% after costs clause, the extra costs will be deducted from the final amount due to the artist. This will then reduce the amount of extra money the artist received. The upshot is - artists must not ask for loads of stuff on the rider if they want to make money! Thanks for the question and I hope this helps?
