I have been using drawers as archives without thinking for years and year and it has just dawned on me that, of course you can organise drawer for access without filling them up. Here's the proverbial old dog learning a new trick! Thanks! The cliffhanger about the notes organisation video yet to come is brilliant! :) Looking forward to it!

My command position has light from the window, coming through the plants; there is a large wooden dresser behind me; I can see the door. And I can see the fridge, dishwaher and oven. The chair I use is metal, straight back, sort of art deco. Most of the immediate equipment is organised in a sewing box. I work from my kitchen Mind you, mostly it's on the computer. Pen and paper is for special (and shopping lists etc etc) (And I have a two wee lights to illuminate the paper if I'm writing properly. On paper)

This is great stuff. So very useful. I share space with the dining table (the dining room is my office). Luckily, we usually share space with the couch and tv when we dine (we eat in the living room).Thus, my options are limited. I have my desk against the wall. Fortunately, there is quite a large window in that wall (bottom is about two feet (61 cm) from the floor, top is one foot (30 cm) from the ceiling, about 1.8 meters (6 ft) wide). It allows me to feel somewhat outdoors with the comfort of AC ( I live in the mojave desert ). I have a five by five "kallax" storage unit from that ever present swedish furniture giant to my left. Unfortunately, it is horribly unorganized. I suppose now that I have a bug I will have to attempt to do something about that. Thank you for that bug. Also I need to check out the second lamp idea. Which sounds like this is leading me to want a brobdinagian desk of the bygone style... Another amazing one, please continue. 😎

I have my desk against the wall, with my back to the door. Someone keeps creeping in and looking over my shoulder to see what I am doing. But all my computer, monitor, speaker and light sockets are against the wall and behind my desk. The command position is not so easy for me.

I can imagine it’s not, against a wall is far more practical for most people. Ideally you have a floor socket like the office does but I don’t have that either
