Great looking show Dave. I wish that I could have been there but it would have been a bit of a drive from Coos Bay, OR. Thanks for being there for us who couldn't attend! Jerry 😎👍

Such beautiful cars!!!! How about that original window label for the TR6, $6500 more or less! Did you notice some British only marker lights? One had the Yellow/white front turn signals, another, a '76, had orange, not red side markers in the rear. I am hoping that the weather is not too bad, like we have this weekend on the East Coast. Thank you for inviting us along for the show. Possibly, one day, I will be showing my car there, in the modified category, or at least, one day, I will make it there.

Seeing the white TR5 and you talking about the fuel pump in the boot reminds me of a holiday in 1976 to Cornwall after a rebuild.The boot was full of luggage so yes it overheated ! The cure was a call to a supermarket for a bag of frozen peas , It did the trick and got me home . I think the TR5 white was called new white,The car was a September 68 car with 60 spoke wires with the hex knock offs . Great video David as usual 😊😊😊😊

Beautiful cars in fantastic condition, most like new. American restoration standards are amazing, you'd be hard pressed to find TRs in this condition in their country of origin. I know because I live here (UK). Britain produced some brilliant sports cars in the 60s and 70s but what you see on the roads here today is so unutterably dull, mixed in with the inevitable EVs. It's sad. I wonder when these ageing owners are no longer around if the younger generation will have the same passion, enthusiasm and love for these beautiful cars. Thank you America for preserving them in such wonderful condition.

Nice show and nice cars, I remember the injection engine in the TR6 run very bad and was difficult, the carburetor engine was better and runs smooth.

Unless the Sedan was modified, the 2000 was a 2L straight 6. Mk1 in that body style, the MK2 having Michelotti body treatment more like the Stag. It also came in a 2.5L carbureted form using SU carbs, or the ultimate, a PI. It was available in manual or automatic (with a Borg Warner box). My father had Mk1 and Mk2 ‘Saloons’ and I did many miles in them as a kid. I’d be interested to know the stories of the two LHD TR5s as I thought they were UK domestic market only, and are now pretty rare and sought after there.
@cheftush
@cheftush 11 ай бұрын
I think you might be right that it’s a 2L. Yes, the 5’s are a rare site…I had one follow me on one of the drives and I thought to myself “ this won’t happen often”….both are left hand drive and I believe were assembled from kits sent to Belgium. The gentleman ( Super Nice Guy) who owns the red on also has another one. He talked me through the PI system…I’m quite interested to learn as I have a RHD TR6 PI coming up in my restoration plans within the next year or two.

Hey Tush. Thx for video. Seeing all the TR6s allowed me to decide on new wheels for mine. Went with Konig Rewinds like yours. Got car today and love choice. Wondered if you managed to replace the centre badges successfully. Love to put on red logos. Thx, Rob
@cheftush
@cheftush 10 ай бұрын
Hi Rob, I’ve been very happy with the Konigs. Yes, I did replace the center badges on the ones that I have on my TR250 with ones that have the TR250 logo on them so it can be done. Not wanting to spend your money, but these caps are beautiful and would help you stand out in a crowd. baulycars.com/product/konig-rewind-centre-caps/

That first brown TR6 was definitely NOT Russet Brown… that was a BL lighter richer brown on the later car in the video… I’d say it was Sienna Brown. Not familiar with Maple…

Hi Dave , purely out of interest but has any of your buddies ever put a Stag engine in a TR to your knowledge and would it fit do you know? (I’m not assuming it’s a good idea by the way!) 😁
@cheftush
@cheftush 11 ай бұрын
Hi Phil, normally the go to for a V8 swap would be the Rover 3.5L V8 as found in the TR8 vs the Triumph V8 found in the STAG.

@philtucker1224 11 ай бұрын
@@cheftush yes understood Dave and I think the Rover unit is lighter too. I guess I was thinking more about continuing the “Triumph” name, albeit just across the rocker covers. Good health to you sir and hopefully those forest fires are over now?
