I think I'm good at drawing from references. However I suck at drawing from imagination. Any ideas how to fix that?
@gesshugh99766 жыл бұрын
Practice your imagination. When you think of what to draw, you have to think of a lot of specific details. Try imagining specific perspective lines and construction lines. You still have to calculate light sources. When you draw from a reference, you can look at the final result, and use it as a guide to compare by. So to draw from imagination, you have to be able to know what it SHOULD look like.
@Eorzat6 жыл бұрын
I believe the way to practice is to go out into nature (i.e. the park or something) and try to draw moving things (people, birds, cars, etc.), so that you’re only really given a few seconds of reference. This will pretty much force you to draw from imagination to fill in some missing blanks in your memory. It’ll also help if you analyze the structures of things in their most basic shapes, so that they become more easy to understand and remember.
@animelegend016 жыл бұрын
@@Eorzat sounds very helpful. Thank you.

Draw a box from imagination and animate them on your paper. Simple exercise but gives powerful results. Imagination is all about imagination a virtual place.

The best exercise I found is drawing something from a reference and then rotating it without looking at said reference.
