I just nod when I'm listening. When I give a slow nod kinda like that super slow clapping you hear sometimes, tbh, it's more of a "yeah, right- I don't believe you but I'll listen anyways bc I don't want to be rude" nod than an agreeing nod- that and when I agree I tend to nod faster. Either way nodding is basically just my way of showing that even if I don't agree or believe you, I'm listening. You never know though, you might learn something when you listen to people instead of just not paying attention- that's what I've learned so I always try to listen regardless-

Do note that many of these techniques can be natural habits as well. This is especially true of the mimicry and head nodding (and even using your name). People instinctively mirror conversational partners and can learn to say people’s names and nod a lot to indicate that they’re actively listening. People can also just be inconsiderate when they ask for things when you’re tired and though that and asking for a larger favor before reducing it can both be manipulation techniques, they aren’t usually consciously employed. If it’s a salesperson, sure, but if it’s a friend, it might just be them being obtuse. If used intentionally, these certainly are manipulation tactics.

#2 sounds a lot like a negotiation technique called the "big ask". That's where you ask for more than you're hoping for with the expectation that the person you're dealing with will talk you down to something more reasonable. If they don't then you come out ahead. If they do then you get exactly what you want while they think they've gotten a better deal. You see it all the time in business, from negotiating contracts to something as simple as haggling the price of an item in a store. I also once used it in college to trick a slacker in our group to pull his weight during a project :)

Love your videos and animations, i know its all done drawn by drawn and that's amazing, also the style is so comfortable that makes me wanna hug all characters to death! I have a lot of mental troubles and no money to take care so this channel helps me to be aware of them and think more about myself

Now I'm afraid, I may have done some of this stuff but I didn't want to take advantage... Only wanted friends lol... Maybe failed too

They teach all these things at sales job...😅 they make you feel like they’re teaching you how to “help” people but in reality they teaching you how to manipulate them...

I would never open a door to a person at 2am or pick up the phone. No matter who it is.I did that once for a girl friend to comfort her from a break up at 4am and she didnt return the same care when It happened to me.I usually dont smile when others do,cuz I dont find it amusing that much as they do.I dont trust ppl nor do I do any of these for them.Been there done that when I was younger. Not anymore.
