The most shocking thing was learning how many shadow games Atem played before duel monsters. Also how he put Kaiba through a shadow game which lead to Kaiba putting of holograms in duel monsters.

Yu-Gi-Oh started as a Horror Batte Manga. With the Battle being Games of Darkness of all kinds. And the Horror being Dark Yugi's Punishment games

There's actually a whole lot more games than just duel monsters. I still remember dragon cards which is represented in the trading cards as xing zhen hu, monster fight and even introduce zombyra the dark which is a monster card was actually a toy line like spawn
