That has to be one of the tiniest garages I've ever seen. Dolly seems like a great bit of kit.

No probs. It really is useful. Without it I'd have to have bought something a lot smaller to shuffle it in at the back. Maybe a Yamasaki Honda replica!

great bit of kit. got sam e size garage as u aswell. I put big plastic/ rubber blocks in front of the bike to make sure I don't go to far back. you just using the piece of wood on floor as a gauge for where u need to stop... is is bolted down or anything

Great video. I also have a Yamaha with a centre stand and was looking at this dolly and the centre stand dolly.. this looks like the one to go for (similar sized garage!)

Great bit of kit, would love one for my bike but garage floor too rough, it was tampered down with timber and it's left a rippled effect, I'll have to stick to the 1 million and 1 backward and forward shunts to get it into position LOL Keep up the great vlogging
@CalmBiker10 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Mine's a bit rough on the floor but not too bad. Occasionally it would stick and need an extra push to get it moving but never so much to make me worry the bike would fall over. It really is a good bit of kit (although I've since sold it because the garage is now only for the bike and the car stays outside).

superb, thanks for this. just been looking at ways to fit a motorcycle behind my gt86 in a garage and you just so happened to have the same car. I know this was from a long time ago, by any chance do you know what the length of this garage is?
@CalmBiker3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's 5m x 2.5m, so 5m long.

I've used something called the original motor mover, you reverse the bikes rear wheel onto it and it clamps tight. Worked well, not cheap at close to £200. Sold it years ago unfortunately and I'm about to buy a gsx1400 with a 190 rear tyre. One thing that concerns me about the centre stand dolly is could the bike move forward off its centrestand when moving it around.
@CalmBiker Жыл бұрын
I never had an issue with the center stand from that point of view but I much preferred the side stand dolly. I wonder if it would become an issue as the wheels aged and became stiff.

It's quite small being a newish build but the Drift camera did make it look even smaller with the wide angle lens.

Thats what I call a dolly, I did notice that your seems about the same length as it do you know if they come any longer as Mine is one of the longest wheelbases in the standard cruiser market, mine is 2,490mm long with a wheelbase of 1,690mm now if they do one that fits that, I might be interested in getting one, Nice video Bud, and thanks for the info, Ride Safe Buddy.

@CalmBiker9 жыл бұрын
+goose gog I didn't keep it long. I had a gearbox problem that Toyota couldn't fix. After about six months of taking it in to the garage and getting no joy I traded in. They had it for a week once, admitted it was faulty but gave it back in exactly the same broken condition :-(

I don't have the dolly any more but as I recall, there were four or five possible positions, rather that being adjustable to any position.

@@CalmBiker hi there, thanks for the vid.. do you remember if you could still turn the bars and put steering lock on? and may I ask why you got rid of the dolly in the end?
@CalmBiker4 жыл бұрын
@@Shinjiitso I can't remember if I could turn the steering enough to put the steering lock on, sorry. I would imagine it wouldn't be much help on the dolly though, as any theives would probably just drag the whole dolly away with the bike on. I now use a ground anchor and a heavy chain for security, as well as the bike being in a locked and alarmed garage. I only got rid of the dolly because I changed my car to one that I didn't feel the need to keep in the garage, so I didn't need to move the bike around so much. If I had kept the car, I would still have the dolly now I think.
@RedlineRossi4 жыл бұрын
Shinjitso Smith I have a CBR650R (if that helps) and you can lock the steering. It does take a bit of a wiggle but it works. I will say that your floor needs to be smooth for this to free-wheel around the garage though. I have had a major issue where I actually dropped my bike whilst riding it onto the dolly. This probably occurred because I am quite short. But what tends to happen is, if you do not have the bike perfectly lined up to ride onto the dolly, or the dolly is slightly askew from the bike, the rear wheel catches the sidewalls of the dolly and makes the bike become quite unstable. I have a 180mm rear tyre and the dolly internal width is only 200mm so you don't get much room for error. Even when I get it right I can hear the rear tyre rubbing on the sidewall. Luckily no damage was done, but they need to make it a bit wider. Hope this helps
@samfields97653 жыл бұрын
@@RedlineRossi Same here. I initially bought the sidestand trolley as shown in this video but hated it. Apart from the fact that you can't lock the steering, I don't really like leaving my bike on the sidestand for long periods of time with the weight fully on both tyres. The thing that put me off most though was that with me being a short arse and my bike weighing nearly 300kg I found that when I rode the bike on the sidestand dolly I found that it raised the height of the bike a couple of inches making me stand on tiptoes and fearful of dropping the bike it. And as Rossi said unless you get the wheels dead straight the rear tyre will scrape the side of the dolly making everything unstable when on tiptoes. I actually stopped using this dolly and bought one of the centre stand dolly's that calmbiker did a video of previously. That dolly does make putting the bike on the centre stand harder but raising the rear wheel about an inch with a plank of wood or as per the video using a concrete paver helps a lot to get it on its centrestand.
@worzysp12 жыл бұрын
Wow thats awesome. Did you use the side stand! Not the Centre stand? Also where can I buy one thanks
