Snake kick is very good indeed, had zero fights and did that to my coach with loads of fights and a few belts and it worked. That teep setup seems very fluid, I'll start doing it in my shadowboxing and try to get it flowing.

It works a lot for me. Surprisinglu I never knew it was an actual technique. I just started doing it because people would catch my kicks.

My MMA coach taught me that snake kick ( 3:37 ) my second day and its been my bread and butter since, works so well if you throw a couple of hard low kicks before to get them checking, then they're on one foot off balance and get blown back by the teep. Beautiful

If I may share, a really good "combination" I've found so much success with is ---- Step jab -> Step back -> (Insert your favorite intercepting shot, preferably something that goes straight)
@mliao110 ай бұрын
Yeah so good. Personally instead of something straight I like to throw a russian style check hook, scooting both my feet and whole body off centreline. Mainly cause one of my coaches has (according to him) ended careers by timing their step, and crashing in with his own spear elbow to the eye socket with the momentum of both fighter's steps.

As a muay mat fighter, your knee combos really showed me that i can easily create the high guarding situations with my confident hands to create openings for my less than confident knees. Instead of always looking for hamds now i have a nice way of visualising knee opportunities to the body. Fuark.

Not really a combo but something that works for me a lot is, while hand fighting, feint the cross, bounce in and out, then fire the cross.

learn how to "control" the fight and take initiative Floyd Mayweather despite having great reflexes can time his opponents not just because of his reflexes but because of his ability to take initiative the fight against Juan Manuel Marquez is a great example

would appreciate an advice for the first combo. would the jab hit because the push kick range and the jab ranges differ thus when you fake the teep, can the jab land?

Hi Gabriel, do you know why certain techniques work better in MMA than kickboxing? I notice rear leg 'front kicks/ mae geri' are more common in MMA (Tony Ferguson, Sean O'Malley, Conor McGregor), whereas in kickboxing the lead leg 'teep' is preferred. Is it the stance used in each sport that dictates what works better?
@PeanutButterCoffeeBread Жыл бұрын
the lead leg of mma doesn't pose much threat in mma, they use it less because of how close you have to be to land it. rear legs have way more threats like a roundhouse, ? kick, teep bc it can land at a safe distance. in MMA, strikers always have takedown defense in mind. that's why they don't stand too tall and keep more distance than KB/MT
@UM3.Yasuke Жыл бұрын
As an MMA fighter I'm gonna say it's takedown defense
@mliao110 ай бұрын
I'm an assistant MMA coach, the reason we're not flicking out that lead leg like a jab is mainly cause it's easy to time a takedown off of it (even without a catch you're not gonna sprawl in time if your front leg was just in the air). Plus, the striking distance in MMA is a lot farther (again due to the inclusion of wrestling), so if you're gonna reach them with it you need to base off your front leg not your back one.

Hi, I'm new to the channel and to boxing/kickboxing. I used to wrestle in high school and really miss the competition and atmosphere that competitive martial arts has, I still have at least a few more months before I'm ready for a real fight but I can't decide between kickboxing and boxing... which do you suggest I try or how do I tell which I should do. For reference I'm 6'4" and 230 (probably will cut to 215 ish) speed is probably my weakest point btw

I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.
