New subscriber here. It's great finding an Aussie homesteader. Especially one living in the same State. Love your content so far. Those jars you use can also be used for canning. We have successfully done this. As long as you have a new lid, they're all good. Thanks for the recipes, I'll definitely be trying them.

I had to come back to this video...I have another ask, I'm looking for a Portuguese spice blend. I used Robertson's Portuguese spice until I found out it has gluten in it. My gluten intolerance has progressed to such an extent that even very small amounts cause a flare up that lasts days. There's also too many flavour enhancers with E labels that I don't understand, if you have a Portuguese spice blend or something similar to that flavour profile id love to see a video. I have found a lovely place here in south Africa to get my bulk herbs and spices so I'm going to be making up bulk batches with the recipes I took from this recipe. I only have small mixes at the moment but I want to give my daughter some as well.

I do make a Portuguese style chicken and plan to make a video on it soon- I’ll have a look at the spices I use.

I am moving to Australia south east Queensland. Would like to know who you use as a wholesale outlet please
@selenastable8 ай бұрын
Welcome to Australia! I hope you enjoy the heat 😊. I use restaurant wholesalers (most are open to the public) we also have a Costco in north Brisbane, and our Cole’s supermarket also has a few larger quantities of the Indian style spices….

Where do you buy your bill spices from? Or do you dry your own onion/garlic?
@selenastable8 ай бұрын
I buy from a restaurant wholesaler- but Costco has some supplies and I also source my cumin and coriander powder from Cole’s supermarket in the international isle- they have some Indian style spices in larger quantities… I hope this helps.

Do you have something similar to Aromat? I'm trying to get away from artificial flavourings and preservatives. I need something that's an all purpose seasoning for sandwiches and meat and eggs etc. Something more exciting than salt and pepper
@selenastable7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, I have never heard of aromat, however I do have some incredible seasonings I've been using recently to replace my salt and pepper (when I get bored of them too..) I will try and get a video recorded soon with more on this..:)

Thank you for watching, and thanks for the info on the oxygen absorber...I had no idea :)
@Thisisit1206 ай бұрын
I really like your video and I'm getting a lot of good recipes. And really I'm not trying to nitpick. But I heard you say that you reuse the oxygen absorber from something else that you get it in. But those things are not reusable.

The reason your onion and garlic powder is clumping up is because you have them in plastic containers. It wouldn't be that bad in glass.
