Thanks also for the reminder that turning extensions off _isn't a big deal._ When I've had a problem and read that advice in the past, I've tended to sigh and resist it, as if it's a big hassle, but as you pointed out, it's really quite easy. I had to smile over the puzzle piece icons. In Firefox (at least for Linux) they do indeed use a puzzle piece, but it's a _corner_ piece, 😊slightly different from Edge. Wouldn't want to get sued for copyright or trademark infringement, I guess. As for turning extensions back on, one at a time, I was initially thinking you meant turn one on, then turn a second one on, and so on. I suspect, though, that you mean turn _only_ one on at a time, meaning turn the previous one OFF first. I mention that only in case other people might have the same interpretation I had. My way would have multiple extensions running simultaneously, which would not only defeat the purpose (to isolate the culprit), but also cause potential _interactions between_ extensions. I'm guessing it could be that interaction, sometimes, rather than an extension itself, that could be the cause of whatever browser issue is being diagnosed.

Thanks for the reminder, Leo. I've cleared my cache in multiple browsers --- including cookies, which I probably won't do again, since I ran into the issue you described --- but I was evidently overdue in Firefox, the one I currently use daily. I had a _gigabyte_ of cached files & images. Also, I just had to experiment with Ctrl-Shift-Del and sure enough, that opened the relevant dialogue. Cool. Oddly, it hasn't worked in the three subsequent times I've tried it, but that's of minor concern, since I know how to find it in settings.

Appreciate the advice! I ran system file checker and it found and fixed some corrupted files. But only time will tell if my Edge browser runs better or if I need to reinstall Windows down the line.

I would strongly recommend to also delete all cookies. Cookies can be seen as cache remembering your history on websites.

Thanks for the video Leo. To uninstall a browser that should be reinstalled again I prefer to use Revo Unnstaller to remove program and the leftowers. Microsoft have a bad issue about using old not removed data that could make the problem come back. A completly fresh install of a program is the best. I like the way You make video, so keep up the good work you do 😊.

Another tip worth considering is to delete the user profile, typically the "default" profile and/or create a new user profile to see if that resolves any issue with the browser.

NONE of my browsers (MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Brave) are working now. But the internet is working; I still can use my TeamViewer software to work remotely on my other computer. My Norton Antivirus software is running without any result :((

1 question why is it that google is using so much ram also is there a way to limit how much ram chrome uses so i can decide how much ram chrome uses not let chrome decide also how can i make it run in a single chrome.exe process i tried the --proces per site in shortcut and dose not work and only have 3 extensions

Yeah, that is one of life's newer mysteries. Each tab as well as each extension gets its own process and therefore it's going to consume memory. I have never heard of a way to have there be just a single chrome.exe process that would handle all the tabs and extensions. That being said, Chrome as well as Windows are both very good reasons to have as much memory installed on one's system as possible. A way to mitigate the problem is to go to Chrome/More Tools/Performance and ensure that Memory Saver is enabled. It will free up memory from inactive tabs. When you click back on the tab, it gets its memory back. I hope this helps.

@@franciscohorna5542 The HP Laptop I am using right now is 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM, Win 10. My Win 10 desktop I got 4 years ago I had Dell put in 32GB. I don't have any other suggestions at this time.

When he says the DEL key, he means the del or delete key. There is no Dell key such as Dell the manufacturer.

FWIW I recently lost the 'Comments" under YoutTube videos with the Chrome Browser. The problem was not caused by the publisher or parantental control settings. The solustion was to Reset the computer. This has happend to me on both my HP Laptop and HP Slim desktop computer.
