Should it first not be study material then observe your life then practice studies then add unique style then find someone who already done then be emotional intelligence then be creative? I couldn't believe how naive I was about the jealousy and envy. As a 30 year old, I never thought I could attract any jealousy from 50+ year old managers. I was just trying to do my best. But I agree about needing to be smarter about that and keeping quiet to some extent about the inner workings of my mind.

Those whom have balanced self love and/or self confidence - get caught off guard by those whom don't - I happen to be an Empath - (didn't know what that was back when, but I ALWAYS felt it before my brain looked and then I used my Brain/Logic) It also helps to Never react to their baits - apply Conscious Thought and respond - sometimes no response is the best response.

Wow, sounds like a great book.. I will have to get a copy ASAP. 1 - Follow your inclination/ follow your passion 2&3 - Apprenticeship and mentors - learn from others, practice, then create 4 - Social intelligence - learn how to influence people 5 - Awaken the dimensional mind - creative + skillful = mastery 6 - Fuse the intuitive and rational mind And I totally agree - stories and drawings are a GREAT way to learn. Thanks for the great video!

@ianwallaceelliott84018 жыл бұрын
Well, they are all great... To get a base of his books start with 48 Laws. From there you will see how all of his writings tie into the first book. It all depends on what you are looking for to improve in your everyday life.The 50th Law helps with conquering fear, and thinking "outside the box". The Art of Seduction helps with interpersonal skills. The 33 Strategies of War helps all aspects of mental and psychical warfare. All help tremendously. I have used several of his concepts after reading about them. They really do work. So good luck, and enjoy.

I don’t subscribe to the idea that following your “passion” brings happiness, I know too many people who did that and when they got the job of the dreams actually became depressed and ended up going back to uni and doing a totally different career. Happiness comes from feeling skilled at what you are doing, feeling like what you are doing is making a difference and having control in your job to do it “properly”.
@Shayanwahedi4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Meaning is derived from being competent, or at least feeling competent at what you do BUT I'd like to add the factor of growth in here as well. Feeling competent at what you do + pushing yourself to get better. That's where the feeling of sense of meaning lies neurophysiologically speaking. Great comment brother.

Hi, FightMediocrity. I love all yours videos. This one for example is exactly how I think and how I acted for the pasted years. I started studying computer science by my own when I was a teenager. I kind lost my self a bit in the middle, I had issues with my family. I thought the solution was moving out from my parents house, and the only thing I knew to get a job was programming, so I started programming again. Now I am 18yo, living alone, with a great remote work and really happy. Thanks to you, now I can go deeper in the ideas I already had and learn new ones. Best regards from Brazil.

If I was asked which one book I would recommend for reading (only one in lifetime!) I would say "Mastery". This book has a power to change your life and tells you what was the journey of Einstein, Mozart, Da Vinci and other outstanding masters. People are used to hear that these talents were born with a great mind and that the majority of people are not able to achieve that much. And so they even don't try!!! But "Mastery" literally tells you what to do! I recently had been learning driving and I could feel that wasn't easy for me, because I used to be afraid of speed for my entire life. But I reminded myself during driving lessons the story about the pilot described in "Mastery" who wasn't outstanding at the start of the pilot course and he had taken more hours than other students. At the end he became a US hero-pilot! So I was saying to myself "if I don't get it easy I will spend more hours on practicing". But many people would rather stop learning something feeling uncomfortable at the beginning.

This channel has got me more empowered than ever to pursue my dreams. My only problem, at least initially, was that i thought "wow, this guy really bashes a lot of perspectives (reasonably non-productive perspectives... but still bashing)" then i realizzed... it makes sense cuz his channel is named "Fight Mediocrity". Fight it! be violent! Bash it! We can gather many means to empower ourselves with positive and happy thought but for me and for the rest of many testosterone driven people it is probably rare and much more applicable/relatable to be introduced empowering perspectives that are overshadowered by an angry (pre-war-like) mood. In a sense, watching videos like this gives me a similar feeling that I would get after the speech before a battle or football game. Awesome videos

You should do a video on ‘The art of thinking clearly’ by Rolf Dobelli. It’s fantastic and it mixes very well with ‘Mastery’. They compliment each other. This channel is fantastic and is probably more important than certain subjects taught in schools.. Ken Robinson has a few books on that matter which I’m sure you will have heard of given his TED talk was the most viewed (last time I checked), another one to consider! My favourite quote from his book ‘The Element - How finding your passion changes everything’ is the ‘alchemy of synergy’ - when you find your passion and creatively pair it with your greatest skill - clarified route of progress and improvement. They are all in written with the same intention which is yours, to fight mediocrity. I personally like something lighter like ‘improving harmony’. I don’t know lol. Anyway much respect x
