6 Strips of Pattern Paper + Stamp Layering | Scrapbook Layout Process

In this scrapbook layout process video I use just 6 strips of pattern paper to create a geometric style background for my base layer. Add in some stencilling and stamp layering, tags, a bold title and I have the perfect backdrop for my beach photos.

WOW Janice, I absolutely loved this-everything about it!! Your stamping is always so spot-on, really fabulous!! It seems every layout I see with this Dreamaker bundle is amazing!! The paper & the Cardstock are so gorgeous, the stamp sets are killer relevant & so useful, & the stencil is just the perfect touch!! My bundle finally arrived, so I’ll be playing with all of it soon. Love the layout! Never thought to turn the versa mat, always put the CTMH tag at the top. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I never think outside the box. 😮I think I’m just in a hurry to get something done, that I don’t take the time to really think about it.

Thank you so much Judy. I don't think there is a right way or a wrong way to use the Versamat. I just find it easier with the zeros both at the top left corner. I'm a bit the same sometimes, especially when I get new "toys" to play with. I'm always so keep to open that packaging and just jump straight in.

I did that style on a page some time ago & didn't like it at all because I got it off centre. So now I will have another shot at it using your technique of putting down a sheet of cardstock & lining it up properly with the T square ruler & then it won't look so out of balance (I hope). I don't know how you come up with these simple ideas but am very thankful when you do!! I also like the idea of just doing the diamond on the one page & the corner on the other, though I didn't mind it with the two corners done but again in an 11 X 8.5 one page is definitely enough!! I am also thinking that maybe a small triangle of glitter paper at the side to start it off might also look good. Something I never thought of, so I will go back & see if I can improve the looks of my page by putting down a plain triangle in the centre as that may help take away the overpowering look it currently has. I was copying someone else's idea but using a different card stock & it ended up being too much!! Sometimes what we see in our mind doesn't translate to the paper!! 😪

I'm so glad you found this video helpful Louise. That square of paper & a rule makes all the difference when getting the first two strips lined up. Glitter paper sounds like the perfect touch on your layout - a bit of glitter always makes things better! I hope you enjoy reworking your layout.

So glad you like what I've done with the layout Pam. I have been wanting to make something like this for a few years as it was quite popular. I can see why it's popping back up again as it's such a great concept, especially if it's been in Scrapbook & Cards to help with it's resurgence. It's funny how scrapbook layout trends tend to come back around again - just like fashion.

Thank you so much Jocelyn. I'm so glad you enjoyed the method behind getting the strips onto the base page. I've checked the video and it's running at the highest definition possible and all clear on my end, even streaming to my TV. I would suggest refreshing, and then maybe waiting a while before watching so that the buffering and upload of the video has a chance to happen before pressing play. I'm not sure - but that may help if videos you're watching are a bit out of focus - especially at the beginning.
