I used to put mental pressure and stress on myself when growing a beard when I was 17. Today it's much more different and easier. As Aaron said, the age will close those gaps and make it more thicker as it grows. My beard is now 1,5 - 2 Months old and I can tell the overall look is way better compared to my teenage beard. The key to grow a succesful beard is patience, strict hygiene, no stress or mental pressure, brushing and very important fitness. It also highly depends on your genetics. Just don't freak out if your beard looks wierd at first while growing, just give it time and follow the steps above to support it.

Alpha, 2 extra tips I've used that filled in my bald cheeks. Derma rolling with a .5 needle helps promote collagen and blood flow to the area, and also adding black castor oil straight after needling to feed the skin deeper than the top level. I've had a beard since I was 12 years old. I'm 27 now and my beard is thicker than most people I meet. the key for me was shaving every a days for no reason. shaving activates hair folicles to grow. My mother was a big time hair guru and she always told me and my brother's to never shave early because we will get facial hair that we couldn't manage at an early age. we wanted beards so we start shaving everyday for no reason. within a month I started to as a mustache than after a year I was able to get chin straps. now my face is covered in hair thick hair and I can shave my beard anyway I want.

the first step to getting thicker beard is to shave less often. i found that in the thinner areas of my face (after getting a closer look) the hair is actually there its just..thinner..than the rest of the hair. allowing it to grow gives the razor more to grab on to when you shave and it gets darker like the rest making your beard thicker...at least it worked for me.
