Birth control is not 100% lol... soooo some of them could have been using birth control or condoms or even a combo of both...but even so, there are chances of still getting pregnant no matter how careful you are... as long as you’re sexually active(unless your gay) you have chances of getting pregnant... just saying... did you sleep through sex Ed? Or maybe just skipped the class? And Most of them(not all) were married or in a very serious relationship by their 2nd or 3rd, and they obviously decided to start trying to conceive.... Its crazy how easy it is for some people. Ive gotten pregnant on birth control a few times and after my first time being with someone. I look at a guy and im pregnant! Unfortunately i just can't carry them full term. You'd think I'd have healthy pregnancies after conceiving so easily but with each pregnancy i lost the baby sooner than the one before. I always wanted a big family but after six pregnancies i only have my first and he was born at 30 weeks. Its frustrating to have your body work against what your heart wants. I hope you get your baby soon.

I just don't know how it is possible in this day and age to get pregnant and be "surprised" by it. Either you use protection or you don't. No surprise there. No accident there. If you don't want to be pregnant then use realiable forms of contraception. Or don't have sex.

TheCourtneyAdventures ! Pffff...yeah right. I've heard of cases where the pill didn't work. They are so rare that after taking them into account the success rate of the pill is still considered 100%. And in all the other cases where "accidents" happened it is usually easily explained by the users own fault or irgnorace or stupidity (whatever you want to call it). Like taking the pill while having a stomach bug. And then not being careful for the rest of the cycle. Or putting a condom on sloppy or faulty. Or relying on statistically less reliable contraception methods. The fact (and if it's indeed a fact or not I'm not entirely sure about) that half of all pregnancies are unplanned doesn't take away anything of my argument: In this day and age there is no such thing as an accidental pregnancy. At least while you don't have any medical/physical reason that prevents you from getting pregnant in the first place. Either you make sure you won't get pregnant or you don't. The super duper rare cases of the pill (or diaphragm or other hormonal equivalent) failing despite optimal usage do not contribute significantly to your 50% of "surprise" pregnancies. Call me ignorant all you want. I'm still right. The truth is just harsh, but it being uncomfortable doesn't make it any less true. Nowadays women (and men) have a choice whether to risk making a baby or not.

Birth Control is only 99.9% effective. That seems pretty good but I’ve still known tons of women who got pregnant on the pill. One was even using condoms as well as Birth Control and still got pregnant. My sister in law had her tubes tied and still got pregnant. Nature finds a way.

Those women do not make up 50% of all unplanned pregnancies. They make up a very very small portion of that. So the vast majority of unplanned pregnancies happen because of human failure of using adequate contraception. And using that contraception flawlessly, which isn't really that hard to do. Sometimes (and I mean SOMEtimes) nature finds a way regardless of all hurdles put in its path, but honestly those cases are so freaking rare that they really don't add significantly to the alledged 50% of all unwanted pregnancies.
