With 115 degree summers in Houston, 75 degree summers in Portland sounds like the dream. 😂

Very informative video. From experience, I'd say the summers are very warm to hot in Portland. I lived there in the 90s in an un-air conditioned apartment and it was not fun. If anything, I'd venture things have only gotten worse with climate change. I'm considering moving back to Portland and I don't think I'd consider any house, condo without central A/C.

Thanks for sharing! I agree, air conditioning these days is needed to be comfortable all year. When I was younger I lived for 12 years in Los Angeles with OUT AC and I remember many summer days pouring water over my head watching TV ;-)

Are there any rentals at apartment complexes with swimming pools, fitness centers, pool tables, and wooded areas with ponds, including grocery store and restaurants within a mile, if not across the street?

Hi Mark, I specialize in buying and selling homes and condos. Apartments are done a little differently here, most agents can not assist in apartment placement. There are lots of options for rentals, just depends on budget.

@@movingtoportlandoregon I got the HUD voucher, but it's hard to work thru authorities, they are very abusive. The authorities there in Oregon expect me to go thru the authorities here and the authorities here are basically just a bunch of human and drug traffickers so it's virtually impossible to get help from them unless you're into child sacrifices and stuff

Hey Aaron, I know you went over the gas scene but what about EV’s? Is there an infrastructure in Portland that supports it? Thanks
@movingtoportlandoregon

Great question! From an EV Blog: Portland Takes the Lead in EV Adoption Portland was one of the first cities in the world to develop a strategy geared toward the widespread installation of public EV charging infrastructure. After the successful implementation of the Electric Ave infrastructure, Portland has increased the number of electric vehicle charging stations to over 200 in and around the city - making it one of the top 10 cities in the U.S. for EV adoption. Charging Your EV: The Details It’s all well and good having EV charging stations available, but if you don’t understand the details behind them, using an EV charger may seem a bit daunting. Fear not - we have put together some key points you need to know about using EV charging points in Portland: Although there are fast-charging points available, you can also use a Level 2 charging point, which will charge a vehicle in around 6-8 hours. EV charging stations are located in public streets and spaces, including city parks, and are available 24 hours per day. You will need to download an app to use the EV charging stations. Encouragingly, Portland City has partnered with companies such as Greenlots and EV Connect to offer straightforward access to the charging infrastructure, with in-app payment systems now in place.

Hey, could you possibly recommend some other cities than Portland? Most states have at least 3 cities with details. I can only find Portland and no one talks about any other area. I like to explore my options.

We don't have enough housing here to be encouraging outsiders to move here. What is it???? 14,000 living on the streets because there is no affordable housing?
@movingtoportlandoregon

What exactly is an outsider? Are we not all people that deserve the right to choose to live where we want? Plus, I don't think my youtube channel is causing a housing shortage in Portland.

Outsiders are transplants from anywhere. You're too sensitive. You can choose to live where you want but be aware......we don't have enough houses for people. @@movingtoportlandoregon

@@trique9776 Secure housing first. We've had a lot of people move here in the last 5 years.....and during the pandemic, construction tanked; construction was slow before that. We're in a housing bind. And it's all expensive. Regarding crime......my honest opinion.....we have a lot of punks and criminals that run the streets at night. Daytime, it seems fine. We've never recovered the foot traffic to downtown, which makes it seem abandoned....a lot of storefronts are now abandoned, unable to deal with the effects of the pandemic...and then theft. Lots of restaurants closed down....but I'm seeing new ones popping up in small locations. Business is just slow outside of the big corporations. Many are now able to work from home. You'd think that would put a damper on traffic, but traffic is worse than it's ever been. We have terrible damage from this current ice and snow storm. I'm not sure how bad it will be for travel/housing/repairs/plumbing damage. It might take a while to recover as we're expecting more ice today. Our wine country has been 15-25 degrees for 3 days. Trees and shrubs were budding and then the deep freeze. Spring usually heals the freeze damage....usually.
