I just started driving a Bus in Dublin. I really appreciate the "thank you" from the passengers, I replied to the first few but unless I shout they won't hear me. This video is great, thank you!

This video is really helpful for the people who are coming to Ireland, and these are the day-to-day things a person faces. Glad you made a video on it. Appreciated!!

No problem at all! After living somewhere for so long you take for granted these things and forget that you had to learn them in the first place.

From Dublin airport, we will take the Express and then a local bus N4, we will make sure to stay at the bottom deck securely with out 2 luggage. Knowing stops before your final stop is good idea. Love to pick a few EU words in German, Irish, Italian etc. Thx for the tips.

The Portuguese also clap whenever the plane lands as well! I thought it was strange the first time I experienced this too. On the west coast of the US and Canada people also thank the bus driver when they get off.😃

ya, here in the US, most people thank the bus driver, I mean, I always do. As far as clapping, I have flown a lot and the only time people usually clapped is when we had a rough flight and we landed safely! But, I always greated the capt. as I got off with a thank you or whatever.

Sometimes we do in America too. I heard more on long international flights.

Nice video and good information. We are going in Summer 2023. I have been to Salzburg and Munich but we did not take anything but a train. Most of time walking was our form of transportation. 😉😆

4:13: Single-decker bus (German: Eindecker) vs. double-decker bus (German: Doppeldecker, Österreich: Stockautobus). Most european cities nowadays have single-decker and bendy buses. However, there are still some cities in Europe which do have double-deckers like, for example, Berlin. But buses in Berlin usually have two staircases (SD 200 buses until the SD 79 buses, built in 1979, and some SD 78 buses also had one staircase) . Buses in Dublin have only one staircase, no matter how long they are or how many passengers they can carry. 4:45: If you want to go to the upper deck on a bus in Dublin, take this advice. Wait until the bus stops at a traffic light, then you can go up. 6:20: Why didn't you ask the bus driver? I did this when I was studying in Cork and they always let me get off the bus. However, I think you forgot two points. If you want a bus to stop in Germany, you simply have to stand at the bus stop. In Dublin, you have to raise your arm, otherwise the bus won't stop. And the second thing; even if there is a rear door, many passengers get on and off at the front door.

Didn't know that about catching the bus in Germany, interesting. Thanks for the additional info.

You guys are a trip. Love Rum's accent. Could also try "Go raibh maith agat"!

Go raibh maith agat for the suggestion 😂I'll surely get the wrong pronunciation dozens of times before I get it right.

I had to travel from Dublin city centre to the airport first bus on a Sunday. It appeared that that the bus was not coming. At that moment 4 lads came up and they were also going to the airport. I told them it was unlikely the bus would come so we got a taxi and split costs
