I just have to say Paul, your videos, regardless of how basic the video title may sound, I ALWAYS learn something new with watching them. You're constantly are blowing my mind with all the little hidden features that completely go unnoticed. Thank you very much! I look forward to many more future videos from you!

Where’d this channel go? This is definitely one of the best technical Pro Tools channels in town. We need new videos

Thanks. I'm starting it back up again now. I moved house and stopped making videos for a while. Let me know if you have any specific topics you'd like covering.

Great video. Very informative and easy to follow. I have encountered an issue when I upgraded from PT10 to PT12 and installed it on a different computer. Everything was fine in my sessions except for one crucial thing - - all the various custom plug-in settings I created and "Saved As" were gone and I was left with only the Factory Presets. What did I do wrong? Is there an easy way to remedy this? Or do I have to reactivate PT10 on my old computer and follow what I suspect were some missing steps to make sure all my custom-made plug-in settings show up on the computer that is running PT12?

Thanks for the tips ! I'd like to add that it can be useful to check "Convert to specified format" when doing a Save Session Copy. I already had a problem when working with an OMF from FCP and sending the sound edit session to a mixer. He could not relink some files. That's because you must either "force to target session format" when you import the OMF or "Convert to session format" when copying the session. It does not take much more time so now I do this every time to be sure there will be no problem.

Most of this is still relevant. I am wondering what has changed, as at 2022, November? Particularly with the new ProTools Studio. Thank you!

I/O setup is often the issue :D
@aliciahealey139726 күн бұрын
Ditto on this - I've streamlined plugins and PT version, but when moving sessions among systems, the I/O set up is very disruptive. It doesn't seem to behave unless I delete the bus routing and replace with DEFAULT which messes up all my bus assignments and have to re-assign everything. For higher track count sessions, this is VERY cumbersome and increases chances of human error on those assignments. Anyone have any good strategies?

Paul, Ive really appreciated all your videos and this latest one about moving sessions and you showing your archive prompts some questions about what you do at the end of the project and how do you archive? I find it tricky to figure out what to consolidate and remove at the end of a project esp understanding "Unused Audio Except Whole Files". I'd love it if you could do a video on what you do at the end of a project to archive at some point in the future. Thanks again

+rawhiti88 Thanks for the suggestion. It's a good idea for a video! I will put something together along those lines in the next couple of weeks :)
