ZooMed improved their diet significantly for a while to be nearly on par with Pangea, but a few months ago I noticed a different texture in the powder and my geckos did not like it as much. I suspect they lowkey switched to some cheapy ingredients again.

I love how much more enegetic you are since you have came back. Also, I have a question my gecko is currently around 10 months old and 10 grams. He is alittle under weight but I feed him gutloaded crickets and good food (with a rotation). He has grown trumendously since I have got him (he was 6 months old and 3 grams when bought). His stomach is very big (not of impaction) and Idk why. Is this part of toddler stage?
@AltitudeExotics4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! They do go through stages where their limbs get skinny and a bit gangly looking, much like a preteen hitting a growth spurt.

Any help would be appreciated I have four crusty geckos and one in particular and I have yet to have any of them else do it that eats his paper towels. I feed them their crickets in separate feeding bins so that they don't nip anything they don't need to once he started regularly eating it (although he's passing it I feel like I want him to not do that) I started putting food in his bowl every single night so he had something to eat and then go looking for his paper towels and he does eat his food but he still nibbles and eats his paper towels what can I do to fix this or what should I do I thought about taking out the paper towels but I don't want there to be no substrate and I'm afraid to use eco worth because it's smaller and I think you'd eat that maybe too has anyone else had this issue any help or tips would be so helpful because I can't figure out what to do anymore 😔

I know there was no response for this and im late, but id recommend the repti-bark. if youre worried about loose substrate, this is much bigger and harder to ingest. hope this helps!
@carriemosman56783 жыл бұрын
I don't use either of those I find sphagneum moss to make the best base bottom, it's soft, holds water nicely and the least likely to cause your gecko to get impacted. Also my gecko is picky it prefers baby food mixed with reptile-boost and exoterra multivitamin.
@cubemania88393 жыл бұрын
my gecko personally wont eat live or dead bugs do ill buy the pangea with crickets mixed in to try to make up for that lol

I appreciate these videos as reminders on gecko care. Thanks for links - I bought some food. In reference to food, to you suggest the breeding food for the parent geckos? Also, what do I keep crickets in? The cricket keepers are ridiculous cuz those critters jump out right away! And some die because of overcrowding (I use paper towel roll). Should I keep crickets in large container (like a big tub with lid) so they can spread out and gut load?
@rylanseager91694 жыл бұрын
You can feed any gecko at any age breeding formula.

Does it have to be crickets for insects? Or can it be worms ect. And how often do I give them? I realy want a gargoyle gecko😇
@fanime14 жыл бұрын
I remember Josh's Frogs had a list of bugs gargoyle geckos can eat and I'm sure there's other websites that do too. As for how often, 1-2 a week. I want a gargoyle gecko myself :). I'm hoping to buy one this month

Thank you for this! Quick question. My crested gecko went off her freeze dried gut loaded crickets. She used to eat them whenever offered but now she won't. I bought a new container thinking it was because the others were old, but no change. Any thoughts? Her appetite for her food is still good

I find dubias are super easy. They can't climb up onto things unless they have a rough texture to cling onto, they don't hop out, they're super easy to grab and dust and toss in there. Super easy to gut load.

I have a question. I have a cork barK background in my enclosure and I have eco earth at the bottom but there seems to be mold growing near the bottom of the background so does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it.
@larnajones50794 жыл бұрын
I got mould on my substrate, I'm assuming the humidity was slightly too high so now I adjusted it, I'm not sure why it would be on the background though.
@em89434 жыл бұрын
Don’t use bark and stuff like that the humidity will make it moldy. Just switch backgrounds

@@em8943 I fixed it! I realized the eco earth was too wet. Now it is doing fine
