Here's a tip: make a large batch of crested gecko food and sort it into individual cups and freeze them. You can even put dabs of food on parchment paper, then freeze it and bag the individual servings. It thaws in 20 min and keeps for several months. Saves me so much time.

My daughter got a Leo for her bday which inspired me to get a crestie for my B-Day. We did extensive research on both before getting them. I chose a crestie because it's care fit my lifestyle and routines. I did not want to deal with a mass amount of insects and with cresties they eat insects only twice a week, the other days they eat Rapashy or Pangea powder food. I love my crestie so much! He still has his tail which I'm shocked about because we've been having loud thunderstorms all summer, plus the 4th of July fireworks and the 24th of July fireworks (I live in Utah and we celebrate the 24th with fireworks because it's the days the pioneers founded Utah). I have nightmares that my crestie dropped its tail because I'm so paranoid about it. I hope he keeps his tail, but I do realize that he could drop it at any point in his life. Fun fact: Cresties with dropped tails are called Frog Butt 🐸🍑😂

i have a crestie and in my experience if you pay attention you can notice when theyre about to jump because theyll lock their eyes onto their target for a bit before jumping so if you notice it about to jump away from you (or towards a cat) youll be able to stop it before it happens :)
@markadams50094 жыл бұрын
True, they kinda give you a heads up by staring at where they want to jump and flexing their legs. You can easily stop them by putting your palm right in front of their face.

I recently just got a crested gecko last night, and we're so happy to finally have a new friend in the house. My cat goes crazy with her sent

Make sure the cat can’t get to the gecko.
@kholeengine3 жыл бұрын
@@nightinggale6470 we leave her in the basement with lots of light and heat, and the cat isn't much of a fan for the basement, so that's step one.

I love cresties! I think I’m gonna pick up my boy tomorrow and i can’t wait. Just wanted to watch the video to make sure that my tank (that looks better than yours😂) is completely ready. Right now I’m just trying to keep the tampurature and humidity perfect but it hasn’t gone over 80 Fahrenheit. Also, i personally think that it is best to have a water bowl for them (i have 2 in my tank) but it probably would be fine without it (it was only like $10 more. So no big deal). I also honestly like the tailless geckos, I’m not saying I’m gonna rip his tail off, but i am saying that I’m looking forward to the next thunderstorm lol!

Oh man I remember the baby food. Baby food was OK but you needed to give crickets or other bugs and proper supplements (calcium etc). I'm so happy with all the new information though! Love it!

Yeah definitely don’t listen to when he said you could house three geckos together.. they’re solitary reptiles. They might fight and I see no reason to risk it.

I just got my first crestie, I love him so much and I keep him in a 10 gallon cause he’s tiny and has minor toe deformities(he can’t stick to anything) I have a 30 gallon tall tank for him when he gets a bit bigger

I’m watching the hog nose snake video, I’ve seen a couple different channels opinions as well as a nature conservation site opinion; I’m studying for a biology degree, we bought a sulcata tortoise who has a 40 ft by 20 ft fenced in yard when he grows big, I love the info your channel provides!!
