And you’re absolutely correct. At 43 yo, I’m finally able to understand that life has purpose, meaning and reason for all the good, bad, ugly and pretty that has happened to me up until this day I’m typing this. After battling years of addiction(1994-2007), 11 years clean time(2007-2018), 5 years relapse(2018-2023) and finally legitimate recovery from 7/5/23 until now, im for the first time living to love and living to live. Spiritual awakenings in abundance, 2nd childhood and the whole gamut of emotions and feelings I once had numbed and ignored are all such a beautiful blessing to feel; all of it, not only the ones that are good. " but that always made me a fighter, and here in the 29th year of my journey I learnt that a long time ago that I was fighting myself and so I just learned to let go and let God, as they say! I still wake up each day wondering "What will I learn, or what will God teach me today? I moved to London, so for 7 years, I've not been able to join classes up here,due to illness, but I do have my heart set on trying more,as soon as I feel stronger. Giving up has another meaning that you have missed. It has to do with forgiveness. Giving up to the great spirit the judgements we may hold. By giving them "up" we are willing to let them be answered for us instead of answering the situation ourselves from a place of ignorance. Forgiveness like giving up is for giving it away to One who knows the real meaning of who we are.

I don't know about this. I think you should or learn how to do: whatever you 'feel' you must or want to do, instead of doing what your thinking or brain tells you to do. There is only one way for you, to go through your spititual journey, and it's 'your''way and if that includes this list 6 things that you must not do, then it's appertently needed, for you to heal yourself. It exists because people like you are socially programmed to agree that it exists. Hoping you know what a social construct is? His-story deriving from academia is part of the social construct The actual system itself doesn't change the meaning of words often times illiterate people within the society use words out their original context either not knowing the meaning of the word they are using out of context or it is used in slang which alters a words meaning thus the meanings of words don't actually change, people change them and the system accommodates that which benefits it because that is how it is able to take advantage of the masses. The word ego was changed from simply being a word used to identify one's self in the form of me, myself and I to falsely becoming associated with the word conceit and made to appear as if it was/is an outside invading force that you have to be free from in order to achieve 'spiritual enlightenment' The fact of the matter is all of the social ills and the illiteracy exist because of the way the social construct is designed, all of the personal issues the mystics say one needs to work on wouldn't exist if we didn't live in the type of social construct we live in. Psychoanalytic (Freudian) sense is from 1894; sense of "conceit" is 1891. Use of “ego” crept into psychology mostly through the work of Sigmund Freud. Put simply, the English word "ego" is the Latin word for “I.” Literally translated, ego means “I.” (If you were writing “I love you” in Latin, you'd write ego amo te.) There seems to be some confusion on the use of the word ego because according to its original meaning it literally just means I, me or myself without any other meaning to it and if that's the case then this video is suggesting that I get rid of myself not just in regards to the socially engineered aspects but the true essence of who we really are as souls, spirits etc. Getting rid of the ego in the sense of the true meaning of the word is equivalent to literally committing suicide. So Sigmund Freud is responsible for using the word ego out of its original context because the word doesn't mean conceited as described by metaphysical teachers. It would appear that many metaphysical teachers are either unknowingly or knowingly misleading people into believing that the word ego means conceited in an attempt to control the mind in the same manner a cult would. Everything else mentioned in this video seems to be on points as far as I can tell. The use of the word ego on the other hand is being used outside of its original meaning, suggesting that enlightenment requires one to be complete empty inside , a zombie void of thought.
