I’ve had great results preventing air dry clay from cracking. It’s glueing the mould down when it’s wet that causes cracking. Air dry clay shrinks as it dries so if it’s glued down when it shrinks it cracks from pressure. If you are placing the mould on a flat surface just lay it on the surface and place a slightly damp cloth over it. Leave it over night and glue it the next day. If it’s a curved surface, use painters tape to keep it in place until morning, then apply the glue. It works for me 95% of the time.

I found a good Goodwill on my trip last week. 3" thick hardback books were $1 each. A big cake plate with dome cover for $1. Thrift flips are so much fun.

Pretty projects Teresa! I heard from another KZbin crafter (IndieAnnieJones1) that she has luck with Nara air dry clay. She said she has noticed it does not crack. Thanks for the heads up about "WHATNOT" too!

Teresa, if you will take the pointed end of a paint brush and poke some dents in the clay, it will help the mold dry faster and you will have less cracks

Question: I am restoring an antique buffet I inherited. I want to decoupage roses on the 2 doors. I love the new IOD Rose Botanicals. Do I need to buy 2 books to have matching flowers, or is it OK to use different roses on each door panel? I intended matching doors, but that book is so expensive!
