We owned Diamond now HVC. We got out because the fees were approaching Marriott level but the quality was nowhere near Marriott level. Once Marriott came out with their points program there was no longer a need to keep an over priced, mid tier quality resort system. At the time we were silver elite members with Diamond. We also own at Spinnaker. Their maintenance fees are relatively low, but so is their quality and customer service. They apparently have online booking for newer buyers in their points system. If you’re an older weeks owner er like use, you still have to call. We recently called their CS and waited 1 hour and 20 minutes to speak with a live person. No option to hang up and have them call us back. This was just to deposit our unit for exchange. Once we got a representative on the phone she was great and got things done in a couple of minutes. I’m all for low fees but I’d rather have great customer service.

I know I am late to the party, but I own at Bluegreen and I am satisfied over all. I know its not a luxury product but most resorts are pretty nice and I like the point system they have and good customer service. I also live in NC which give me access to so many resorts in driving distance, which allows me to maximize my ownership. The timeshare I would not buy into even though it has the best resale value and is the overall best DVC. I don't want to be limited to only going to Orlando/Disney, or the few resort off property. I personally don't like RCI all that much, Bluegreen offers better programs to travel internationally that I use.

Bluegreen has some nice properties (in-laws own). But many times I've stayed at a Bluegreen resort using their points and felt like nothing was really clean. I mean obviously the basics like beds are changed and the towels are washed but I don't feel like they do much else when turning over the rooms.

I know they aren't considered luxury like the Marriott's and Hiltons, but they certainly should be clean. Perhaps one day we will get to a Bluegreen resort to check it out.

@@DestinationTimeshare Some resorts are better than others, which leads me to believe it is an issue with management at a resort level.
@DestinationTimeshare
@DestinationTimeshare 4 ай бұрын
@@RoastBeefSandwich It may also be at the HOA level. I believe some resorts are heavily owner controlled and they simply don't want to spend the money to improve the resort and rooms.

I have VV Williamsburg I bought resale for as a trader and am very happy with it. Low maintenance fees and no extra fee to split the 4 BR into two 2 BR units. It’s a prime summer week and has pulled some excellent exchanges.

I've heard that VV can be good exchangers. I know several people who have also bought RCI points based VV weeks and do well with them. Thanks for watching.

How about Jockey Club in Las Vegas? They're managed by Tricom, and have only started selling contracts in the 1970s, so there's plenty of inventory to go. Westgate in Las Vegas told me I would make over $100K buying there, because of their relaunched Elvis theme, if I bought and held on to it for 24 months. The Elvis museum and gift shop ended up being a legal nightmare, not paying rent to Westgate or the Elvis estate. I own HGVC and Club Wyndham, and would only consider Worldmark in retirement.

We currently have Worldmark and resale DVC. I'd consider Club Wyndham, but we can currently exchange there with our Worldmark credits. We really like the worldmark system, due to our credits expiring 2 years after received and ease of use.

Worldmark is one we would consider if we lived further west. They just don't have that many on our side of the country (East Coast). Thanks for watching!

We’ve own at WG since 95. Deed week. Paid off. My parents bought it when I was studying in Florida. I took it over in 2008, which is the last time I’ve been there. I deposit mostly to II, exchange mostly to Aruba since I live here. And times I’ve gone to Orlando after 2008, exchange from II to other properties. The only thing I cringe is the maintenance fee. I own 4bed lock off. So that is high but I get 4 weeks into II.

Sounds like you got the benefit of being able to transfer between family members, so it is treated as a direct purchase. Resale is awful, thus why we wouldn't want to own. Their maintenance fees aren't as bad as some of the higher brand alternatives. That said, I do want to visit some of their resorts. Thanks for watching!

I would add Marriott to this list. I have traded into Marriott resorts using resorts with Maint fees 1 third the price that Marriott owners are paying. I am currently looking to pick-up a vacation village week for South Florida.

At one point or another, we had Marriott, Hilton, Wyndham, Hyatt, Paradise Village and Lindo Mar in Puerta Vallarta, and a few others. The only timeshare we hold now is Wyndham and Hyatt. Happy with Wyndham as plenty of Stateside and Hawaii choices.... the system works well for us and never a problem. Hyatt has been disappointing with limited choices and high maintenance. The MAIN reason I will not go back to Marriott/Weston is VERY HIGH maintenance fee's. Easier just to go on line and book thru normal travel sites. Many of those high maintenance locations are just cheaper to rent online. These companies just use us as cash cows to maintain the properties and let them make huge management fee's.

@@buyerclub2Hello there. All of them were sold in 2005-2007 when pricing was higher than what I paid in the early 90's. Made a profit on a couple and broke even on most. It was a good time to sell for sure. Bought Wyndham recently on the resale market for pennies on the dollar and they have been working out very well. Hyatt not so much with their shenanigans of late. MVC is screwing them over.

It seems that the common theme here is Marriott Vacations and I agree, their fees are out of control. I still think there is value in owning a Marriott week, but I am thinking time may be running out on that soon too. Thanks for watching!

We bought in Sedona for their film and wine festivals, plus we live 5 hours away. We considered Hyatt, but ultimately chose Club Wyndham for value. We stacked it with a 231,000 EOY contract in Kona, which landed with double points, allegedly part of a class action from the prior owner. We're beyond happy, with more points than we can use, so sometimes we pick room upgrades or late checkout with an extra night.

I am not sure if Bluegreen was purchased by HGVC. I went to a presentation and the "salesman" said you can not use Bluegreen unless you are a HVC owner. HGVC are not eligible.

I misspoke there. Bluegreen was purchased by HGV, not necessarily by HGVC. They are not yet integrated together through HGV Max. Apparently that is coming, but you can't get it through resale. In my opinion there isn't much value to HGV Max.

I am not a fan of HGVC or HVC, both charge exhoribitant resort fees when exchanging in RCI. Up to 27 dollars a day for Polo towers in vegas...for what? The stuff you get for free from Wyndham or Holiday Inn Vacation Club. I know you are an owner in Marriott, but at least one of your contemporaries on You Tube say they would not buy Mariott again due to the ever increasing maint fees.
@DestinationTimeshare

Certainly HGV and HGVC aren't good to exchange in to. It is what stops us from going to a lof of MVC resorts through Interval International. I don't want to pay an extra $175-$200 on top of all the exchange fees. I think HGVC (not HVC) is a good product to buy into on resale as their resorts are very good quality and resale owners are treated primarily the same as those who buy direct. Thanks for watching!
@thejokerspeaks

We bought an EOY HGVC contract for Waikiki only, and an occasional stay at Elara. The exchange fees into RCI are indeed a joke. Better for us to only own a small piece that we'll use directly.

@@Carlosab818 Some great resorts on your list. I've stayed at a few of them. You should visit Shenandoah Crossing, it's great. King 583 and Lodge Alley Inn in Charleston SC are also nice resorts, although much smaller since they're city-center.
