Ooh I also think it’s best for me for volume if I don’t put in a defined part and instead just let it fall how it wants. If I part it I tend to get flat hair around the part and I hate it. I also second the combing or brushing ur hair at 90 degrees from ur head that helps tons!

Thanks for this video. I have just ordered these 3 exact products, and I also got a sample if the hold me softly to try. I usually use innersense or curlsmith purple/orange line. I have fine med porosity wavy curly hair which I've just cut from halfway down my back to just a vit shorter than yours so I'm really keen to rewatch some of your videos. SILKY ROOTS! I've never heard that term before, but that's exactly what I have. Finally someone with hair like mine. My curls last for days, but my roots go limp quickly, so I'm often washing my hair before I really need to just to get volume back at the roots. I have a pretty flat head, so lack of volume at the top is a no-go for me!! LOL I do everything you recommended in this video, except I haven't tried the thickening lotion or any other "volumizers" as I thought they were scams. LOL. You got great results though, so I'll definitely have to give them a try. Thanks!

Have you tried a dry shampoo or texturising spray for the roots? That really helps my silky roots 😃

@@MarisasCurls I haven't tried dry shampoo, but I have tried a texturising spray. While it gave me AWESOME volume, I didn't like how it made my hair/scalp feel gritty. From what I've read about these types of sprays, they all do that. Has that been your experience as well? If you've found one that doesn't leave a weird gritty feel on the hair, I'd definitely try it! Does try shampoo do the same thing?

Dry shampoo does a similar thing but I don’t think it gives the rough feel. I love the Hair Dance dry shampoo, it’s a powder and it’s great! Still needs fluffing up every so often but it does help.

I just love your videos. I think our hair types are very similar so what you are showing seems to really work for me. Thank you so much! Another question I have, though, is what kind of haircut do you have? Would you consider doing a video talking about that? My hair comes down my collarbone and it’s almost all one length with just a few light layers throughout. My hairdresser, who also has curly hair, insist upon not going any shorter with the layers, but I feel I need more layers because my hair is very fine and I hardly have any volume. I will definitely try the tricks and products you mentioned here, but I’m also wondering if you have any layering in your hair or if you could address that at all. Thank you so much!

Hi Becky! I’m so glad you are finding my content helpful. I actually cut my own hair and I do a have a video on here showing how I do that. I have lots of layers. I would describe it to your stylist as lots of layers for a rounded shape. I do also have a video on here about how to get a good haircut. Maybe have a scroll back through and see if you can find them. If you can’t then let me know and I’ll find them and send them to you

I find adding in a foam adds soo much volume! I absolutely LOVE the curlsmith volume foam. Would you say the foam or the thickening lotion provides more volume? I wonder how much volume you can get when paired together! I know hanzcurls also combined the two products in her recent video and her results, as well as yours, were beautiful!

Thank you for all of your tips- your curls are beautiful. I’m new to embracing my curls, and I’m so disappointed to say that Curlsmith products are not working for me. I was so excited to try them because they seem to produce such great results for many people. I used the co-wash, the double cream conditioner, the weightless leave-in, then the thickener, and then the in shower style fixer gel. My hair is very thick, so maybe that is the problem, or maybe I’m using too much or too little. My hair is soft, but it feels very product-y, and the top is completely flat and not holding a curl.

It could be that your hair needs some protein added, also the In Shower Shower style fixer is super strong hold so needs a ton of water when applying. I prefer the Flexy jelly because it’s great hold but my hair feels much nicer with it than the in shower gel

I find when I diffuse I end up over drying my hair and have to re wet it🤦‍♀️. I end up hover diffusing for about a minute and then leave the rest to air dry. no patience 🤷‍♀️😂. your hair looks lovely btw x

That’s a really good way to do it though, just get it started drying with the diffuser and then air dry 😃

Your results look great! I really can't get this lotion to work xD I don't see any more volume than normally. (I used the same products as you) Used it on 3 wash days now, played around with the amount of product each time. Sure, if I fluff my hair it gets volume, but a little later and it's all gone again. Makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong.

Yeah ok I guess that’s what I have too…silky roots. They ain’t curl right away and are really speak and slippy. Bonus they are real shiny. I can struggle with volume but then again I think I’m wavy who can coax out some spirals with the right product and technique
