Hi, I liked this very much; I'm new user of black paper. However, fast talking is difficult for me to follow; so, I constantly have to listening several times or keep stopping and re-listen over and over. There is one artist on youtube that is impossible. I know there are not many who struggle as I am describing, jusst thought I would put it out there. Great tips to get started!

Thanks so much for the feed back. I really appreciate your candor. I know I have been very fast in some of my videos and recently have had to go through speech therapy after Covid and have had to relearn things and try to fix some bad habits I have developed. It’s a process but I am hoping all the work I have been doing will eventually show in the presentation of my videos. Glad you enjoyed the tips and I hope they help you.

Thanks wendi! Im quickly learning about some of the things you mention in this. Most important is use a light hand!!! Ive given myself wrist strain working on a black paper piece. Im forcing that prisma colour into the paper way too hard!!

Awesome so glad that these tips will help you. Yes if your hand hurts then you are pressing too hard. Better to put several light layers so you don’t have wrist strain. It also helps create more depth and gives room for adjustment as you build. It’s all trial and error. I have no doubt you will figure it out and be a pro before long. If you have any questions. Feel free to write me and ask. Happy to answer anything you got.

Hi Wendi! I found that video very helpful since my preferred subject of drawing being astronomy objects, so I use a lot of black papers. Did you use Canson Mi Teintes already? If so do you like them? I use oil pastels with them, sometimes colored pencils, good to know Prismacolor is good on black paper. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us 🥰

So glad the video was helpful. I do like the mi tientes paper for somethings but definitely not my go to. It is a nice paper overall but my preference is paper with more tooth and not a lot of texture for colored pencils. I haven’t tried oil pastels on them but will add to my list of things to try on that paper. Thanks so much for watching.

instead of drawing an example of the application of your description, you draw a shell and confuse the understanding of the instructions.....horrible
